One of the most beautiful of the 1960s Kenmores, the 540 is also a very strong, precision sewing machine. It's just come off the restoration bench at Stagecoach Road Vintage Sewing Machine and it's like a brand new machine. You really cannot buy a machine this good, new, at any price.

I have 2 of these .One has a reverse problem.The other same thing along with other issues. Very Heavy Duty machine.
