    Awesome review buddy. Nice to see that they "simplified" their boots with the class name instead of a different name for every single boot like it was before.

    Great to have you back. You mentioned the short bottom cable on this boot. I was once told by a bootfitter that in general the 3 piece cabrio designs should be avoided for high insteps as the shell cannot be stretched for more instep height as it can in the traditional clamp style boots. What's your view on this? Cheers.

    Yeah tend to agree with this. I have been able to stretch space on just the tongue with the manual press. But it affects how well it keeps the seal on either side, so more snow gets in and drenches the liners.

    I have the TW boots, I think the cables just need to be longer, especially since they allow you to move the buckles around

    Great review mate, it’s interesting that you say yours doesn’t come with the laces and velcro in the box because I’ve just unboxed mine right now and it actually does have the velcro for the heel and the laces! Perhaps they were just missing from the box you tried! I thought I’d share :)

    Is that boot good for approach with frame touring bindings? I am don't wanna go fully lightweight-comic-aero-skitouring, but sometimes I spend a day on tour using my freeride skis fith frame bindings. Standard ski boots often have this walk/ski switch which usually is enough for my needs. How about this one?

    You would need to make sure that your binding is compatible. Most modern bindings are Grip Walk, which will accept both sole types.

    Would this boot be suitable for all mountain/ piste skiing. Looking for new boots and coming from 80 flex. Like the idea of later swapping from 100 to 120 and the easy instep.

    It can be. Very good boot for getting on easily and great for many situations. I would tend to steer you maybe more towards the Recon boot. Possibly in a 110 flex. Just as comfortable with the liner, but will give great feedback for when you are pushing your skiing.

  • @PatriotFootbeds

    @PatriotFootbeds

    Yeah nice, how did you find that Icelantic boot to use? I never got the chance to ski in them. For the Revolver vs Hawx Magna, they are 2 hugely different fits. Magna is super spacious and wide, the Revolver is quite medium fit with lower height. So it will definitely depend on your feet. If you have chunky feet, you may like the K2 method boot, if you are more mid fit, the Hawx Prime would be closer to this revolver fit.

    Just bought a pair of these 120 flex at 30.5 unaware that there 10mm smaller length than my requirement and current 30.5, do you think I could mold and punch the extra 10mm for my big toe ??? Thankyou!

  • @PatriotFootbeds

    They definitely fit short for size. You possibly can get them to work. I recommend to do a shell check to look at the space you are dealing with length wise. If you have 10mm- 20mm, I think you can get them to mold and bed in. Less than 10mm and Id be a little concerned.

    I really think I want this boot more than the recon that I’m picking up from evo in a few days. Because I like to ride the park and hit jumps more, and could use the absorption. But I’m scared it might be a lil too tight, because my foot is something like 99 to 102mm wide and 28.3 cm long. And I live in Florida rn, so I just had to measure myself. So that I could get them for the Black Friday price. Which do y’all think would work / fit better?

    @@ericrice120 A shell check is where you look at your foot inside of the boot shell. (take the liner out) to reference the sizing of the boot to your feet. It is super helpful in knowing if the size is correct and how your feet interact with the boot. If you search my channel, there is a 3 part video series you can watch about it.

    I picked these up from last years final make of the FT First Chair 120. Same boot. Interesting, mine did come with the laces and J-bars. My only complaint isn't so much the toe cable length, but the mid one. It's a bit loose for me. That speaks to how everyone's foot shape is different. Otherwise, love the boot. Threw an 8 (100) flex tongue on it for my skill level and body weight. Love the modular aspect of it and it's true that stomping landings feel like a dream on these things. Carving and charging feel pretty decent as well. The last thing I'm adding to mine is a custom in-sole (to raise the heel just a tad more) and I feel that these things will last me quite some time.
