Awesome review buddy. Nice to see that they "simplified" their boots with the class name instead of a different name for every single boot like it was before.
Craig, thanks for the comprehensive review as always!
Bought a K2 revolver boot off of Craig only a week ago and he's definitely good at what he does and knows what he's talking about. I'll definitely have to buy some skis off Craig next.
Fantastic review man thanks for being so thorough

Thank you!
Great to have you back. You mentioned the short bottom cable on this boot. I was once told by a bootfitter that in general the 3 piece cabrio designs should be avoided for high insteps as the shell cannot be stretched for more instep height as it can in the traditional clamp style boots. What's your view on this? Cheers.

Yeah tend to agree with this. I have been able to stretch space on just the tongue with the manual press. But it affects how well it keeps the seal on either side, so more snow gets in and drenches the liners.
I have the TW boots, I think the cables just need to be longer, especially since they allow you to move the buckles around
Great review mate, it’s interesting that you say yours doesn’t come with the laces and velcro in the box because I’ve just unboxed mine right now and it actually does have the velcro for the heel and the laces! Perhaps they were just missing from the box you tried! I thought I’d share :)
Mine came with the ankle velcro thing and laces. I wish the cables were a little shorter I have my middle maxed out
im considering buying them, should i?
What an awesome review as always Craig. Can you make a review about Dalbello Il moro ? not krypton, while i know it's based on Krypton, but exactly review the Il moro, what are the differences between OG krypton and Il moro..

Yeah I will see if I can get my hands on a pair. I dont deal with dalbello in store so a little harder to source. But I will see what I can do.
did u ever do that k2 method video? cant seem to find it on ur channel if u did.
I can’t find any reviews on the K2 Method… Is that something you could do? There is a great deal on them locally right now :)
Please review the method series. Nothing on it on KZread
Is that boot good for approach with frame touring bindings? I am don't wanna go fully lightweight-comic-aero-skitouring, but sometimes I spend a day on tour using my freeride skis fith frame bindings. Standard ski boots often have this walk/ski switch which usually is enough for my needs. How about this one?
Would I have change the grips on the bottom of the boots for most bindings (such as the marker binding that most have)
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
You would need to make sure that your binding is compatible. Most modern bindings are Grip Walk, which will accept both sole types.
Would this boot be suitable for all mountain/ piste skiing. Looking for new boots and coming from 80 flex. Like the idea of later swapping from 100 to 120 and the easy instep.

It can be. Very good boot for getting on easily and great for many situations. I would tend to steer you maybe more towards the Recon boot. Possibly in a 110 flex. Just as comfortable with the liner, but will give great feedback for when you are pushing your skiing.
Coming from a 1st degree/icelatic and looking at this K2 or the Atomic Magna Hawx 130. Any thoughts thanks. Also what insole would you pair with these
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
Yeah nice, how did you find that Icelantic boot to use? I never got the chance to ski in them. For the Revolver vs Hawx Magna, they are 2 hugely different fits. Magna is super spacious and wide, the Revolver is quite medium fit with lower height. So it will definitely depend on your feet. If you have chunky feet, you may like the K2 method boot, if you are more mid fit, the Hawx Prime would be closer to this revolver fit.

@@PatriotFootbeds the icelantics we’re great (shell bought by Deeluxe snowboard boots). Good plastic but mine were stretched too 120 so fit like a glove. Off to a boot fitter it is! Thanks
Just bought a pair of these 120 flex at 30.5 unaware that there 10mm smaller length than my requirement and current 30.5, do you think I could mold and punch the extra 10mm for my big toe ??? Thankyou!
@PatriotFootbeds
7 ай бұрын
They definitely fit short for size. You possibly can get them to work. I recommend to do a shell check to look at the space you are dealing with length wise. If you have 10mm- 20mm, I think you can get them to mold and bed in. Less than 10mm and Id be a little concerned.
I really think I want this boot more than the recon that I’m picking up from evo in a few days. Because I like to ride the park and hit jumps more, and could use the absorption. But I’m scared it might be a lil too tight, because my foot is something like 99 to 102mm wide and 28.3 cm long. And I live in Florida rn, so I just had to measure myself. So that I could get them for the Black Friday price. Which do y’all think would work / fit better?
@PatriotFootbeds

It is really too hard for me to judge without seeing your feet. You can still ski park in the Recon.
Wish Revolver plus came in 31.5..
came back from skiing a few days ago and discovered the shells on my...i think 2012 full tilt drop kick has started cracking. fitted like a charm tho. would you happen to know which of the K2 flex revolver models would be the best replacement for it? edit: would you also happen to know if the old parts from the full tilts would also work on the new k2 flex revolvers?
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
Hey Chia, Yeah the closest to your drop kick will be the Revolver Pro. And yes all the parts will work on these except the buckles.
@ChiaZachary
Жыл бұрын
@@PatriotFootbeds Hey, thanks for the reply! out of curiosity, would you also know if the revolver and revolver pro are the same shell but with different flex ratings, or different shells entirely
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
@@ChiaZachary No worries. Same shells but different flex tongues and different liners. You would be used to the wrap liner, hence the pro version.
It is a really narrow boot with a thiick liner though, question, would heat molding help expand the ankle and calf area of the boot?
@PatriotFootbeds

Yeah it will for sure.

What is the difference between the 120 flex and the 90 flex?
@arnocauwenberghs1842

The higher the number, the stiffer the boot or in this case the tongue
Just got my k2 rev pro. I molded the liner. Is there any overwhelming pros to molding the shell also? And can I ski them for a bit then decide to mold the shell or not?
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
Nice. Yeah there is no reason at all to mold the shell unless you have some compression issues. Much better to just ski and have your feet get used to them.
@swedens
Жыл бұрын
@@PatriotFootbeds then I’ll ski them for a bit and if I notice any compression issues I’ll do it. Is there a span where you need to have done it or can I hypothetically ski them 100 times and mold the shell and still be good

@@swedens Yeah, no timeframe, I would imagine you would know if you need to do it by the first couple of weeks.

I guess I need a 31.5 but the Team and Pro Versions only go to 30.5. Is it possible that it could fit because of the new shell?
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
You would need to do a shell check to see, but I would be doubtful if you usually run a 31.5 shell. These boots already run pretty short in length overall.

@@PatriotFootbeds just bought some bootfitting products from you. Curious what is a “shell check” ?
@PatriotFootbeds
Жыл бұрын
@@ericrice120 A shell check is where you look at your foot inside of the boot shell. (take the liner out) to reference the sizing of the boot to your feet. It is super helpful in knowing if the size is correct and how your feet interact with the boot. If you search my channel, there is a 3 part video series you can watch about it.
Where can one buy the different flex tongues? Can’t find anything online.

@@PatriotFootbeds lifesaver thank you!
I picked these up from last years final make of the FT First Chair 120. Same boot. Interesting, mine did come with the laces and J-bars. My only complaint isn't so much the toe cable length, but the mid one. It's a bit loose for me. That speaks to how everyone's foot shape is different. Otherwise, love the boot. Threw an 8 (100) flex tongue on it for my skill level and body weight. Love the modular aspect of it and it's true that stomping landings feel like a dream on these things. Carving and charging feel pretty decent as well. The last thing I'm adding to mine is a custom in-sole (to raise the heel just a tad more) and I feel that these things will last me quite some time.

Great. Yeah the great thing about the top and middle cables, is you can swap them out for smaller ones, but unfortunately no different cables available for the bottom one. Hope they go well with some footbeds!

That is the Raichle Flexon Comp. K2 and Full Tilt has nothing to do with its fundamental design.
