...updating, came thru San Antonio on the run from a day putting together/ordering materials @ Tilden on my way back to brother-in-law's in Cibolo (yeah I know that K1 S.A. is out of the way!). Stopped in (waited an hour till they opened @ noon) and did my 1 remaining race on the K1 card from Arlington, REALLY like the S.A. track...got a reasonably good best lap about 1.4 seconds off the current lap record....Arlington seems to be a 15-16.5 sec. lap/S.A. about 18-19.5 so more seat time....I'm hooked!! Keep up the great driving Andrew, might see you there one day! : )'

...thanks, good luck with the track record...you will get it! I'm actually in Corpus Christi so my closest track to home IS San Antonio! Was working in Ardmore, Oklahoma and a guy from Dallas told me about K1, stopped there on the way home! No worries about me breaking your record after you set it...I'm 6'3" tall, 210 pounds, and next year I'll be 60!! Older than the dirt K1 is built on so to speak! : )'

Good driving, good lines Andrew! I recently got my first taste @ K1 Arlington....got a 16.43 which was pretty good but 1 second off the track record...and I was trying!! San Antonio looks a bit more technical, those keyhole 180's are a bitch! Too much outside/inside/outside and you open the inside to your competitors and aren't set up right for the next corner. Not enough and you've got to scrub off too much momentum! Your lines looked really good, a nice balance of both, excellent job sir!

I just went to it today its a better track layout now

I was there this year and i was in the hotel next to it.

I'm 11 and my pb is a 18.7. It was only my 2nd race on the track. Austin is my local track.

My PB is now 18.56 (you can check it out here kzread.info/dash/bejne/foatys6AisvXo9I.html). You're lucky, Austin has a much nicer track design now. Have fun and get as many fast times as you can while you are still small!

On oval turn do stay more on the blue side then turn in or do you stay kinda close to the wall I go for time as well and I am still learning San Antonio one

Most of the lines here are correct. The only one a bit off in this video is the turn at around 1:34. You should take that one tighter so that you cover less distance and get a straighter shot out into the chicane. I'm not exactly sure which oval you are talking about. If you give me a time stamp I might be able to help more.

Current rec is still 18.176 by Jonathan but the karts just got new brand of tires and new head maintenance tech and they're running amazing times. Ran back to back .3s and won the GP with a qualifier time of .295

...on the K1 Speed KZread homepage it shows the San Diego track, many turns, much bigger layout, looks really cool! I'm a big fan of bank turns and over/under bridge/tunnels....maybe some of the future K1s will include 'em!!

are the races a set number of laps, or as many laps as you can do in a specified time, like 8 minutes or something similar?

A set number of laps. The first person to reach that number of laps starts the end of the race, so slower people running with faster ones may not be able to complete the total number of laps.

I heard that they recently made that change because people were coming and intentionally crashing karts to make videos that would get more views. I haven't tried bringing mine there recently though.

did their helmets already come with GoPro mounts?

it's isaiah bruh Probably around 30 mph. They used to be faster, but have gotten a little slow over time.

They run 45 mph, but frequent racers go closer to 50 mph

Ethan Lucas Yes, they have smaller (junior) karts just for kids. The junior karts only run with other junior karts.

damn... went there last week and they chewed my ass out for having one drift turn at the hard turn. they don't even care about your trashy drifting, assholish tendencies and bumping... 😑
