So since the civic is so light to start why don't the honda guys start showing up in a whole car? I mean, anything is fast when it's gutted. I won't race anyone that has a gutted car like that. Either its a full interior and solid car, or no race. And before the honda fuckers start hating on my post, I race a solid block, sleeved, and boosted h22 93 accord. Everything on my car works down to the ac just so that when I beat the other guy, there's none of the "well it's gutted" bullshit.

I bouht mine new and it seets 8200rpm daily, @ 120,000 rn and I had one major issue. Timing doesn't enjoy redline so I put 900$ into a timing job.

No aerodynamics, No track control, No double clutch, no fancy suspension, No $5k each rim, No helmet, just built, and still smoked the mclaren.... that's impresive

So well said, seen so many races here where the driver is the weak link, in their own cars and just mind boggling really? Think a driver in his own car would like one getting the most out of that build, so yes very refreshing to see a man able to use his just put together Lego bits of a car from the get go and to top it off, just slapped another tune on, eBay turbo and on it goes haha, that was priceless. Props to Baby Senna driver too though, he took it well and no excuses which is equally refreshing imo.

BUNCH OF BIG FAT LIARS THOUGH. Although 650whp is possible in a stock block TSX... THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT CIVIC WEIGHS 2300lbs!!! THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT CIVIC NEEDS 650WHP TO BEAT THE MCLAREN!!! NO WAY IN HELL THAT MOTOR IS MAKING 650WHP!!! The lightest '92 Civic CX Hatchback completely stock from the factory, weighs 2094lbs. If you add a turbo kit, that adds 150lbs, so that's 2250lbs roughly. COMPLETE CAR W/FULL INTERIOR! BUT, this car has no hood, no front bumper, no front impact beam, no headlights, no rear bumper, no rear impact beam, no inner rear taillights, no mirrors, no interior, only a driver seat which is all sheetmetal. This car weighs something like 1800lbs! Yes, that's over 400lbs taken off!!! Even if you disagree, and go with half that, that's 2000lbs FLAT!!! Power to weight ratio, the car needs 350whp to beat a Mclaren with 560whp. If the Mclaren puts down 10% less than 620hp at the motor, so 560whp at the wheels... BUT, lets say the Mclaren puts down 620whp at the wheels, then the Civic needs 390whp to beat the Mclaren. Lets give the Mclaren a little bit of advantage on the shifting though (as Hondas shift INCREDIBLY fast) as the Mclaren does have a DCT. So, at most the civic needs 450whp... and that would be complete destruction on the Mclaren. Is 450whp doable... well, it's about the average setup on a k-series stock block with a turbo kit. My guess though, that civic has 400whp. Nothing special here. Please drive through. A fun drive through, at that.

You gutted the shit out of the car, and the car is already super light. Then, you don't have that much power, but that's ok, your car keeps up with the Mclaren.

The honda driver is a man of his word and a hell of a guy to build this with his homies just like that and the mclaren driver has got my respect as he's not showboating his car at all, on top of actually tracking his car within the first month of ownership. Man the first "fast" car I drove when I was 17 was a buddys 93 eg with a Type R swap and nothing but headers/intake/exhaust. Even with bolt ons it ran low 13s, which is slow by todays standards but in 2001 that was moving. Man that thing was so much fun to drive, honestly it gave me as much of a thrill as getting to drive a Huracan at 33.

Those Honda guys are true-blue, top notch, badass dudes! Every time someone talked about the car it got better and better. Sold the wheels for gas money, trading lug nuts to the other race car, ebay turbos with a can-do attitude. Man, can't ask for a better mindset for racing. The lightest '92 Civic CX Hatchback completely stock from the factory, weighs 2094lbs. If you add a turbo kit, that adds 150lbs, so that's 2250lbs roughly. COMPLETE CAR W/FULL INTERIOR! BUT, this car has no hood, no front bumper, no front impact beam, no headlights, no rear bumper, no rear impact beam, no inner rear taillights, no mirrors, no interior, only a driver seat which is all sheetmetal. This car weighs something like 1800lbs! Yes, that's over 400lbs taken off!!! Even if you disagree, and go with half that, that's 2000lbs FLAT!!! Power to weight ratio, the car needs 350whp to beat a Mclaren with 560whp. If the Mclaren puts down 10% less than 620hp at the motor, so 560whp at the wheels... BUT, lets say the Mclaren puts down 620whp at the wheels, then the Civic needs 390whp to beat the Mclaren. Lets give the Mclaren a little bit of advantage on the shifting though (as Hondas shift INCREDIBLY fast) as the Mclaren does have a DCT. So, at most the civic needs 450whp... and that would be complete destruction on the Mclaren. Is 450whp doable... well, it's about the average setup on a k-series stock block with a turbo kit. My guess though, that civic has 400whp. Nothing special here. Please drive through. A fun drive through, at that.

I've been building them too. But saying dumb shit like this makes me cringe. We both know it's a Honda chassis. With an entirely built engine. And gutted. 1000lb difference and more power...doesn't matter what car it is it will win.
