Thank you sir.. after I saw your video about solving the problem on this JVC deck, I was able to fix my deck Technics RS-TR252 and be able to come back to life again, by replacing one transistor that has been shorted, and one resistor that has been cut off on the power supply block.

The trials & tribulations of a cassette deck technician! Appreciate you doing this sleuthing nonetheless. Admittedly I can only follow your work up to a certain degree, but I lear a little bit more each time I watch your vids. Thank you for fixing what is a cheapy-weepy deck that likely most techs wouldn’t bother with.

Very good troubleshooting sir. The key thing that many should learn from this video is patience, persistence, and knowledge. I love the fact that you clued into the fact that the regulator IC was being shut down and did not jump to the wrong conclusion that the regulator was simply bad. Critical thinking is key to repairing equipment. Damage like this and having multiple problems makes troubleshooting exponentially harder but your expertise reveals that you can logically work through the issues and get the product working. Great work sir !!

I have that same unit. I picked it up at a thrift store for $5 and didn't have to do anything to it but clean the heads which looked almost unused. It plays great!

Ive always loved the idiots that oil the belts and the rear slip clutches on these .... they really mess them up .. takes forever to clean it off .. as for the 8-track players i have a nice pioneer 8-track recorder here, im in to electronics repair and i have collected records and jukeboxes since the 80's i have loads and loads of cassette decks , RCA Selectavision CED players , CED Discs, laser Disc players and laser discs .. and of course Super and standard 4 head hifi VHS systems... I love to watch your videos my friend , im in London Ontario Canada . thank you for posting , i used to have one deck like this one and wow some one dumped beer or something all over it , took me hours to get it back in shape to resell . Look forward to your next video

Ive got the TD-W718 and I must say its a fantastic dual well deck. I use it mostly for recording. Never had a issue with it touch wood. Solid deck.

I got a Pioneer EX9000 from e-bay at a ridiculous low price because the seller said the display didn't work. Upon recieving it, I disassembled and found that the ground pin for the FL display had gone cold, so resoldering fixed that and voila, a perfectly working unit. So many times on the stuff from the 90's, the problems are cold solder. Unless, of course, if it hasn't been dropped.
