Same here! I think I've been watching this channel for close to 7 years now. I was still in highschool and was in awe of how good his students were. I'm 25 now and feel like I'm finally starting to get there. My sketchbooks arent nearly as clean and pretty as the ones on this channel, but I'm also not presenting them to the entire class and internet. It's been cool watching myself grow over the years by comparing my work to the students that pass through this classroom.

Thank you all for watching. My current students inspired me to actually post a video on my channel. What a concept.

Justine, I really enjoyed your sketchbook. No matter what life brings to you, never, ever put art aside for long. You have a gift. Keep going. Matt - another winner. I love these and you seem to always find a gem. Have a great rest of the week/weekend - both of you.

It's ok... I mean - she is certainly artistic and has a style.. but I don;'t see anything "revolutionary" or so "gushing" like you are... it's a'right

There is no need to post all thoughts, you know. This sketchbook is by a first years college student. Personally, I love the art she made. But if you don't, there's no need to share that opinion with a young artist. Negative opinions tend to stick. It's easy to be encouraging, just find an element that you did like. Or even just praise the effort of filling an entire sketchbook. If all of that is too much, it's even easier to just be quiet and let an artist enjoy some no doubt very welcome praise.

@@RadishTheFoolI subscribe to the Judge Judy book: If you advertise on the internet, then expect feedback (good and bad) on the internet. I'm a very encouraging person but also prefer to give honest feedback. Art is in the eye of the holder as they say. By the way, I did say something positive - "she is artistic and has a style".

@@RadishTheFool hi im the artist in this video! thank you for your comment haha i appreciate it -- of course reading the original comment did make me feel odd (0 constructive crit lmaoo) and the top comment and reply is two older adults comparing themselves to me (which didn't make me feel great either BUT) i was 17 in my first video and 18 in this one, so of course im still learning as i go -- thank you for watching :))

@@justine660 These commenters have no idea what they're talking about, and no social skills. Pay them no mind. I've read advice recently that said if you wouldn't go to them for advice, don't accept their criticism. Like a package that was sent to the wrong address: think 'no thank you' and don't accept it at the door. Your work is amazing, and I can tell you've worked extremely passionately for years to get to where you are now. There's no imagining where you'll go from here, but it's sure to be wonderful. Thank you for sharing your work with us strangers, and I'm sorry some of them can't appreciate your kindness and courage in doing so.
