Because music is magic, it's special. Ever notice if you like a song. But then it's in a soundtrack to a movie that moves you. The next time you hear the song you feel it. Not just hear it. And the song is never the same again. There is something about music that I am not sure what it is. But I have a feeling there is more to it than we understand. Can't stop watching this. You know, a lot of jazz musicians have trouble playing funk and soul. They tend to get into those weird jazz modes and scales that clash with the music. This is perfect though.

just play the f minor pentatonic (F, G#, A#, C, E#) with the occasional passing tones (B, G, E...) for the part that's not the intro. i'm so bad at jazz i only know how to play funk, soul, blues... i don't understand all that mode stuff :( but i got really good at those genres though hahaha, the key is to keep it simple and rythmic.

C altered dominant scale. Basically, its the 7th mode of the melodic minor scale. In this particular case, he uses it over Gb7(b5), which is a tritone subtitution of C7(b9).

@@joshuareyes9075 Sure! If you have a dominant chord, whatever it is, play a melodic minor scale that starts in the b2 grade, taking the root of the respective dominant chord as the 1st grade. E.G in G7 use Ab melodic minor scale. A melodic minor scale is the same as the natural minor scale but you just have to take 6th and 7th grades of that scale and alter the pitches a semitone up. E.G A Natural Minor: A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A. A Melodic Minor: A-B-C-D-E-F#-G#-A. Hope it helps!
