I know this an old comment but my god when see it all in highlights and you really take in how awesome this kid was , its crazy we didn't make the playoffs , but in hindsight its better we didn't, bc we went all in ,in FA !!

after looking at the highlights, Joshua Palmer really stood out for me this season! as a rookie he made insane crucial catches and i hope he will get utilized more in 2022! that catch he made on 4th and 21 by herbert was just a thing of beauty

Agreed! Coach Staley should've gone for the 2 pt. conversion at the end. Putting the ball in Herbert's hands to win it. He was on fire! 🔥🔥🔥.

NFL is kind of new to me because the league doesn't have the same impact on my country. But I've been lucky enough to watch the greatest like MJ, Messi, Lebron, Cristiano, etc. And I have to say Justin Herbert is SPECIAL. He moves the ball in (maybe) the hardest role in sports, and he makes it look easy even in critical circumstances. He's just 23, and he carries a franchise. If the NFL has real expansion plans around the world, this guy should the face of it. He inspires everything around him.

I love hearing how much Cris Collinsworth enjoys watching Herbert play. It seems like every other throw is followed up with a “wow” from him. I just hope the defense can become even half way as potent as the offense next season..

Nice catch! He really does , I hear him chuckle a lot like he can't believe what he saw.

He's the most talented Chargers Qb ever I know it's only been 2 seasons and they have had some great ones but Herbert is a generational talent.

Amazing year, deserved to be recognized with a postseason appearance but hopefully we play at our full potential next year. Great season to witness!

Watching this honestly brings a tear to my eye. So excited for the seasons to come. I dont think people realize how special this kids gonna be.

Justin Herbert is incredible! I have always been a Charger fan back to the Dan Fouts era and had pretty much given up watching football. I happened to watch Justin Herberts 1st nfl game against the chiefs last year and became a born again fan. This guy is so exciting to watch and is just the most humble quarterback you could ever hope for! Congratulations Justin and the entire Chargers organization on an amazing season. I look forward to more exciting action in 2022 and beyond.

agreed! Telesco needs to go all out improving this horrible run defense we have as its been killing us this season and if Lombardi can let Herbert throw for more than 5 yards! sick of the short screen passes. Herbert definitely deserves a playoff appearance, over 5000 yards and 69 touchdowns in 2 years is just mind blowing to not be in playoffs

With the amount this team has especially on the offensive side of the ball it’s surprising and sad we didn’t make it to the playoffs. Justin Herbert is too good to not be in the playoffs. Don’t let him down next season please!!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

This hurt. I can’t believe we aren’t in the tournament. We can’t drop games next year. Chiefs/Houston/Cowboys/Patriots. We have to finish or get more consistent. We only need 1 extra TD in each of these games. Besides Houston, but we should’ve smoked them anyway. Also, I think Herb should run more.I know he a walking deep bomb td, but if the defense gets scared of his legs like a rod. Then I think the middle of the field coverages will shift closer to him. Everyone expects our deep passing game. Oh and if possible draft DT from Georgia #99.

I tilt towards building on Herbert first because great QBs can lead you multiple championships. Yes a dominant defense alone can win you a Superbowl. Recent dominant defense are the 85 Bears, 2000 Ravens, 2002 Bucs, 2015 Broncos and 2013 Seahawks. However all these dominant defenses only won a single Superbowl each.

As a chargers fan we(the team)dont deserve to be in the playoffs but Herbert sure as hell does! If Herbert keeps growing and playing at this level/rate he’ll have multiple Lombardis in his future

If only they could've drafted Penei Sewell. I know he played LT in college but a beast like him would work anywhere on the O-line and he already had a rapport with Herbert. The defense is where the Chargers need to focus right now. Herbert's a dynamo that'll get the best out of anything and anyone you give him but all the offensive momentum in the world means nothing if the D can't make a necessary stop or two.

So many great close games, our defense was just not it at all. But now about a month away from the 22 season, I’m so hyped ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Upgrades needed. Outside receiver with real speed. A tight end that gets the job done. Jared Cook needs to retire. Right side of the O-line needs help. We need a running back capable of running it 20 times a game. I love Ekeler, but he ain’t that runner. There needs to be some serious work done on the run defense cause it sucks. Seriously sucks.

Allen can out route anybody and Williams can catch the deep ball. Cook is just fine, Ekeler IS that guy only Charger since LT to have the amount of rushing TDs and Passing TDs he is a Touchdown machine! Right O line is fine we had one of the best overall all year. We need to focus on our defensive line in free agency. Maybe a star player wants to join us if were lucky. But definitely focus on our run defense.

@@juliog7519 cook dropped a lot of passes and wasn't;t there for a lot of games. if parham is healthy, he'd be perfect as our starting TE. ekeler needs a backup RB, he isn't a 4 down back, jackson, kelley, and roundtree were all dissapointments. our right o line is terrible, and one of the worst in the league. but yeah, we do need to focus on DT, as well as another starting CB, and depth everywhere on the defense and o-line

Herbert has shown he can manage coaching changes and new offenses quite well, but let the man have more than one year in a system and you will see even greater play from him.

we have good players, on defense, but everyone else shouldn't be starters. and that's not including games where guys like derwin, asante, tranquill, etc missed because of injuries. and defense is staley's specialty, but he doesn't have the players right now that can execute his schemes correctly. and he's not going to be able to overturn our roster in one offseason. but having all this cap space this year will certainly help our defense out a lot

Man, if Cristobal had actually played to Herbert's strengths Oregon would have its first Natty. Good riddance to him and ever more props to Herbert. I look forward to seeing him earn a Super Bowl ring or 8 in the future.

Coming back to this in 2024 after the KC cheaters have just won another superbowl. Can Jim Harbaugh bring back this version of Herbert and make him even better? Our only hope to stop Kermit and the Swifties from ruining the league.
