@@nickm635 I heard people talking about it when I was at a service center. I have to say, this is pretty hilarious considering it's already been officially called the Genbi Valley. Maybe this is an indication that GS is getting more popular in the U.S. and nicknames a la rolex-style are starting to abound. Bravo for the Baja Blast!

I own the ‘matrix’ sbgj241 and I waited so long before pulling the trigger.. for fear that a more appealing green dial arrived. I love love the matrix, more so than the peacock but this is favorite I just wish that it was released with a 44gs case

I'm getting this soon. Will be 2nd GS.

Congratulations! Beautiful watch! I prefer it over the great White Birch for its more unique and beautiful dial.

Hi and thank you for sharing. Having had the whitebirch highbeat and now the genbivalley highbeat (both 9SA5 movements), could you please tell us about the accuracy of both models? Did you feel like this limited edition is more accurate than the whitebirch highbeat? Or is it the same? Thanks

These watches are almost perfect. Just taper the bracelet and, on some models, make them less beefy

They won't. First of all, the bracelet is already tapered on this and they already made a model with 20mm lugs. That model however is the dress watch version, which is hand wound and thinner. Grand seiko seems to be determined to do weird stuff with their watches. They are fully capable of adding 20mm lugs with a tapered bracelet and micro adjustments. They choose not to on purpose.

I suspect they're moving towards ever-brilliant steel/titanium being a standard for all models, likely as part of their not-so-slow move upmarket.

Next on my list. If only the movement was more accurate, my white birch was 25secs/day too fast and adjustment in Japan brought it down to 15 secs/day while my Wako Clock Tower Limited Edition (SLGH015) runs around 13 secs/day too fast. How's your experience with the accuracy? I was surprised to hear you say it's accurate. (also check the White Birch thread on watchuseek, the problem is widespread).

I have had surprisingly good luck with the accuracy of both my White Birch and this Genbi Valley. They average around +5 to +7 sec/day when worn. The accuracy of this watch was a bit worse if it was just sitting in my watch box for a day or two

It's principal function is to be very resistant to corrosion, but it does also have a similar hue to platinum.

Red dial, I meant.

Would look better with a gold second hand

I'm susprised they gave this one a blue second, when a lot of ones with more muted dials are stuck with silver second hands.

More the gran seiko looks like a rolex oyster date more she looks great,only change a little the hands and put a cyclope date and perhaps i will buy one...

Same boring case and bracelet design. From what I’ve read, good luck if you ever need servicing.

Grand seiko everything is badass. However, since inventory is available, they sell to poor people that shouldn't be able to afford the watch and will take a lost on resales. Rolex is trash but they only sell to people that can afford and willing to only sell at a higher price. It's all marketing
