Just Start Messy, A chatty paint with me video, using gouache and water-colour in my art.
Today I wanted to do a chill paint and chat video. I managed to turn on the camera and film two of my latest artworks I was playing around with. I end up talking about why it is so important to just start messy when you are learning anything. We all have to start somewhere and it's easy to put off starting because we feel like we are not good enough or we are not ready. I really think that we all just need to dive in and learn as we go just like every pro had to do before they were an expert. Stop comparing yourself to the experts and enjoy being the beginner. Enjoy the mess, the ugly stuff and the failures we make along the way. It's all part of the process and you should embrace it and welcome it. We also need to just have fun creating and sometimes not worry about the outcome or how good something will turn out. We are all born to create, so just start creating! I hope you can enjoy your art journey and all the ups and downs you will encounter along the way.

Sandi Hester is of the opinion we shouldn’t throw away any of our early work. Just an FYI, it was hard to hear you at times, even w/my volume maxed.

I agree, you shouldn’t throw out early artwork. Like I said it’s good to compare your earlier work a year later to see your progress. I just meant to make work that’s not so precious sometimes and even if it’s “garbage” it’s still part of the process. Thanks for the heads up on the sound. I realized that after uploading so I might fix it and re-upload. Ugh
