Just Like Clam Chowder

This is one of my favorite salmon recipes. I used canned coho that I catch in the spring. You can use store bought canned salmon for this recipe as well but it's more satisfying knowing you caught the fish. I made a double batch this time so I doubled everything in the video. Salmon Chowder:
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
2 tablespoons butter
4 strips bacon, chopped
2 small onions, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons flour
3 cups chicken broth
1 12oz can of salmon
2 cups half-n-half cream
1 large potato
2 cups corn
Old Bay Seasoning, Salt, and Pepper to taste (start with 1/2 teaspoon of Oldbay).
1. Set a large stockpot over medium high heat, melt butter and olive oil.
2. Add bacon until brown and crispy.
3. Add Onion and Garlic, saute for 2-3 mins
4. Add flour stirring constantly for 2 mins
5. Whisk in chicken broth, bring to boil
6. Add salmon, potatoes, and corn then return back to boil.
7. Once boiling, return to simmer for 15-20 mins or until potatoes are tender
8. Stir in half-n-half and cook until warmed thoroughly
9. Add Salt, Pepper, and Old Bay to taste (start with 1/2 tsp of Old Bay)
10. Serve warm with crackers, enjoy.
