One of my personal favorites for soup season! Rich, smoky and creamy smoked salmon chowder with bacon bits, corn and parmesan cheese. Topped with parmesan cheese, fresh dill, fresh parsley, and a squeeze of lemon juice. This incredible creamy soup is bound to become a family favorite! The aroma alone is simply mouthwatering!

My boyfriend and I went to a restaurant in Redondo Beach, California in December and they served my him some Smoked Salmon Chowder before his main course. He shared it with me and I fell in love. Thank God I found this video! My sister and I just finished cooking this. She kept questioning the idea of the salmon because it “has such a strong smell.” I have no issue with that. I just kept thinking “you’re gonna forget all about that when the soup is cooked.” She served us and we sat at opposite ends of the living room yelling “OMG!” 😂 We used potatoes instead of the Mini Gnocchi. This is SO DELICIOUS!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! ❤

This. Was. Delicious!!!! Made it sans bacon, subbed with liquid smoke, used plant based heavy cream and extra creamy oatmilk, FYH parmesan .... very good!!!!

Hi. If you really wanted to go full vegan, there are some excellent recipes for vegan smoked salmon (lox) out of carrots. I made it a few years ago, put it on a bagel w/Tofutti cream cheese, red onion, and tomato. I was kvelling!!! (Swooning, in Yiddish.)

Wonderful Tatyana! I have to send this recipe to our daughter whose husband is a huge salmon devotee. Once again, I can't get over the number of flavors you introduce into your work. It gives such a depth and heartiness of flavor! I've never been to Seattle but this looks like the next best thing to the trip! Thank you!!

Cant wait to make this soon for me can i use mushrooms / vegetable broth/tofu/ almond milk/coconut cream and vegan cheese BTW i love your second cookbook been life saver for me at work today and your recipes made me super hungry at work i never had smoked salmon chowder with bacon and corn before perfect for raining days in Singapore and after office meals

I'm so glad you're enjoying my cookbook! :) I wanted to pack all my favorite childhood recipes into it! Yes, this should work great with tofu and mushrooms. I would add extra smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.

Thank you! :) Yes!! I used to get it at the airport when I came to visit. So good but I made mine even better :)
I'm making some chowder for friends today. I will try the tomato paste and liquid smoke to add to a basic recipe I follow. I cut lots of corners. The key is the wine I use. My chowder is perfected with my second glass.

It was. I'm in the Midwest now. Was in Washington for 22 years. Still have kids there. Miss the fresh salmon.

Made this today🍜 WOW 🤩. What a fabulous soup!!! We could have eaten the recipe up to stock going in as a great soup but then came gnocchi, salmon, dairy and dill plus toppings to make an incredibly filling a flavourful soup 👏. Served with cheese scones it was a treat. In Canada so no Costco hot salmon so we used candied salmon. Off to US Costco for the next batch 👌

I have a question for you. Can I freeze some of this fabulous soup? I made it last night with some leftover grilled salmon and it was amazing. I definitely will make this again and try the smoked salmon !

Yes! I've frozen chowders before with much success. You'll want to defrost in the refrigerator, then heat up. I'm so happy you loved the recipe! :) One of my favorites!

Question, what if you don't eat bacon, since it's pork, which we don't eat, can you use just smoked paprika. Because I want to make this. You do make the most delicious foods Tatyana. Umm mouthwatering always. Thanks 💘

Hi Alex! You can also use turkey bacon for this recipe. Adding a bit more smoked paprika will also add some flavor, but not as much as the bacon. Enjoy!

I personally haven't tried it with talapia. The smoked salmon is really the key ingredient here.

@@TatyanasEverydayFood just wanted to come back and say everyone loved it! next time I think I'll be using potatoes, the gnocchi was the one thing everyone said wasn't their thing. but that's ok, It might just be a regional thing, we love our potatoes :) thanks again for the video, can't wait to make it again.
