Kennedy is spot on, here in the UK we have a massive problem with immigrants travelling through half a dozen neighbouring countries to get here. They should be made to stay at their first safe country. They want to come here because they know we are a soft touch. This is a crazy situation and I can see the same thing is happening in the US.

If they are actual asylum seekers then they can go to an official port of entry and they won't be turned away. The problem is they are not asylum seekers.

Skirting means, saying anything but what you are asked. When the answer is already a yes or no, anything that's grand bunch of time wasted, which is called stonewalling(wasting the 5 minutes and examination is allowed which IS A TRAINED TACTIC, you know that, too, movies explain everything they do often).

I’m not understanding the purpose of these committees.. why the questions and no repercussions?! Is there no power to fire?

This exchange between Kennedy and Mayorkas, is like a parent asking a child if they cleaned their room, when they didn't. Kennedy being the parent.

I love how Senator Kennedy always knows the answer to the questions he asks, and he knows they either don't know the answer, or they are going to lie about what they are being asked. If they don't want to answer then they stall for time. LOL They know he "has their number" but they would end up in prison if they ever told the truth!
