Tom, if you want to make life a bit easier, try it with d metal in place of the lead strip. Tallow the lead after you’ve scraped it and wipe it with a moleskin. The d metal is more forgiving than the lead strip. For someone who doesn’t leadburn every day I’m very impressed. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

An excellent installation, very neat and tidy our Tom👍. The old pumps use to last for years and if the pump ever freezes and get stuck and not spin, my plumber who is retired now told to to wack the pump with a block of wood and it would get going again 😅😅😅. Good old days before theses new fancy smart pumps 😂😂😂.

When I started plumbing in the 90's we used to do all the lead work on sites now the roofers do it,.well done with the lead work, just a point with the lead chimney tray, your meant to mark your hole on the flat bit and cut it around 30 to 40mms smaller and boss an upstand, the up stand is meant to go inside the flue so any water penetration of the brick work runs on to the tray and out, also you should leave 100 to 150mm to turn down on the front of the stack and if the tray is in the roof space on a pitched roof 150mm to turned up at the back and 2 sides to form the tray to stop water running in to the roof space, not sure if you were making a tray or a slate, a lead slate normally site on a roof tiles hence the name lead slate, what I was seeing at the start of your job looked more like a tray sitting on brick work, have a look at SLB lead work on KZread he is class, he really knows his stuff on lead work but be carefully because once you start watching his videos you won't be able to stop
