Day in the life of a plumber
In todays video I go back to the water leak job from last episode and finally get that job all sorted. I then connect my flow and return heating pipes up in the roof for a new radiator I first fixed.
As always, thanks for watching, all the support is greatly appreciated

You can’t always remember how things go together as you work with so many different fittings. lol. I know the feeling. Those plastic fittings won’t leak, usually good seal and you’ve tightened it plenty.
I wouldn't let it get to you mate. Easier said than done I know but at the end of the day you was right in the end one of the best plumbers/gas engineers I have seen on any social media. I'm an apprentice even I could tell that 22 was enough. Probably never even touched a pipe slice in his life 🤣

@@PlumbLikeTom Fair enough that it was on the limit. From the look on the video it didn't seem that long of a run what size boiler was it mate. Just curious. I have seen boilers with longer runs in smaller pipe before that's what made me think that it would have been well within the limit to be honest.

TOM IT WAS A FANTASTIC VIDEO.
Hi Tom, that inspector sounds like a right pain in the backside, I have very little patience with people like that these days, maybe I’m just getting too old. The job is looking good and coming along nicely now, I look forward to the next film, have a better week mate and take care. 👍👍👍

As usual Tom , a very enjoyable video to watch . It’s good how you mix it up with you install and bathroom work As for the inspector, I fail to see how he can look at your work and talk to you , then he considers a suspension .he must be one of the few low calibre inspectors around. Our local guy is sound as a pound I would try and put it behind you because nothing good will come out of it in the long run .

A brilliant video Tom - personally I really enjoy your conversational style. I must admit to feeling itchy while watching you amongst all that insulation, but that may be because I’d just been in an attic myself! I understand your annoyance at the gas safe person - it would have been extremely annoying as well as embarrassing in front of a customer; he should really write to the customer and explain that you were correct!

You are doing your best Tom and posting it , you wouldn't post videos if you were doing a sh1te job , your jobs would be ripped to pieces by keyboard warriors. My mate ( sparks) had a similar experience with his inspection, was accused of not doing the testing. He said enough was enough and packed it in . He's now retrained and is teaching at a college. Keep plodding along Tom.

does it matter what way round the full bore levers are mate ?

Me neither buddy. Me neither
Sorry you had a bad inspector Tom. Seems to be a lot of people in this game who have an ego and have to prove they're right all the time. Usually they aint right and end up making themselves look a fool in the long run. You're one of the most knowledgeable plumbers on social media don't let it get you down. What sizes were the 2 fittings you used on the underground pipe?
@PlumbLikeTom
Ай бұрын
Thanks for the support as always Tom, I can't remember exactly the fittings I used, I think the old pipe was 47mm in the ground and the transition coupler I used went from 47 to 51, I then went back to 50 and then down to 25, it was a bit of a strange one
Where’s Jacob when you need him. He could have done the soldering for you. 😂😂. Like you say any experienced gas engineer could see it wasn’t the pipe distance at fault. The only thing different from when you installed it was a new meter and regulator had been fitted so had to be that or water in the service.
@PlumbLikeTom

Thanks for the support as always Colin, Jacobs soldering is way better than mine. I did try to explain to the inspector it was a regulator fault but he wouldn't have it

Great video to highlight that not all inspectors are nice, Tom I am right in saying that you are out of pocket for that repipe then ? Seems poor show for the inspector not to contact your customer. Your high standard of work shows when the customer asks you back to carry out more work.

Tom. Post the video. He was quick enough to pull you. We are all human and make mistakes. He’s an inspector so obviously needs more training and you should be able to advise them of his mistakes. If the governor was faulty when installed the engineer should have picked it up but they don’t acknowledge chimney sweep on worcesters. They only run a hot tap. POST THE VIDEO. you have nothing to hide. If anything it may help people pal.
