When the boilers a pressure tested at the factory, they’re taken to system pressure and vacuumed down to get all the water out. The residue water is held by the heat exchanger and internal pipework the bungs are then fitted to protect the box. Personally it’s a good idea boilers are tested at the factory. We all fit what we are comfortable fitting and installing some people like fitting Worcester’s. Others fit Baxi, Ideal or Vallaints. Great video as ever and Happy birthday to your Dad! Glad he’s recovered 👌🏻

@ 18:33 Top Tip... Never put a light bulb in your back pocket & sit down... Having lost a few bits down cavities myself;... all metal objects... Strong Magnet tired to paracord or string;... & fish it out... I've even made a pair of Footprints... As 4 that gigantic void;... I have a selection of old tyre inner-tubes... I fit Worcester’s everyday of my life as I work for the council, and yes the 4000 PRV is the worst design flaw ever, now I pre solder onto the bend and put it on the boiler after it’s on the jig and then drill out the wall after the boilers on much easier then the plastic piece, as for filling loop put the screws in first only a bit then tighten once filling loop pushed in 👍

Went from being on a site fitting Ideals for 5 years turned up at my next site to find out it is Worcesters, my heart sank. All our pipes are 1st fixed to go straight into the valves, so if you use the keyholes for fixings on the jig, you have to take off every valve and put them on one by one. The top part of the jig sways more than a spiders web on a windy day, as there is no stabilty. The PRV connection, dont even get me started. I not ever going to go on about the flue turret, bloody things.

I like the jig on Worcesters for piping up when soldering, means you don't burn the base of a boiler! But agree that PRV is the worst design they've ever made!! Those new 4000's are pretty horrendous to fit and don't like the digital pressure gauge, that customers can't see. Great video again mate

Before you put the keyless link in put the Allan key bolts in place 1st then put the filling link in place, tighted bolts up,job done. As for the PRV,it can be a pain and I do wish it was a brass connection with a rubber insert washer, but to take an hour is a joke. Walk away and take 5 mins. The pre plumbing jig is excellent, especially if your working in a tight space, and you don't have to take your pipework down and to the side if your pipework needs to go up.

Hi Paul ---i'm not a Worcester boiler fn ether -- the best worcester boilers were before condensate boilers began -- the RSF 24 + 28 , also the early 24 + 28 junior were a lot easier to fit + to work on --- like it too that your elderly customers moved out while you fit the boiler -- wish mine did , -- i get them following me around in the house , standing watching me for hours , standing on my tools -- and talking me to death -- what a job eh -- we should get payed in gold -- take care Jim ...

Pipe it up then fit the prv last and pipe it up. it’s easy to screw it on when the boilers on the jig As for the filling loop just do any 2 holes. It doesn’t have to be opposites. It’s only holding it in I guess they leave the water in to show it’s tested. If you know water is there it’s not hard to not drop it everywhere. Always start on the return nut too as it’s the hardest. 1 hour to do that prv 😂 Jesus Maybe next time he should leave the orange bit on so it can do it’s job and help him

Like everything once you get use to it, it becomes 2nd nature. You are meant to take the side panels off the boiler when you get these they come with square gaps on the bottom both sides to pick it up and to get access.
