Thanks for being one of the few reviewers to do mitsubishi. I have the 2016 outlander GT. The first thing all reviewers of this vehicle need to not is that THIS IS NOT A MID-SIZED SUV. It is a COMPACT. It rivals the CRV, not the pilot. If you put the outlander in that segment, you will see how much value it has. Pros 1. V6 option. It may only be 224hp but it's more than enough. The only competition is the Rogue. No V6. 2. 7 seats. I'm 5'10 and none of my other family members are taller than me. The 3rd row is super useful when the in-laws visit. You can make your kids sit there for a quick trip to the restaurant. 3. S-AWC. I just drove it in slush on oem tires. The car did really well. Better than my wife's CRV. 4. Sized for the city. Garage and parallel parking is a cinch. 5. Price. Got it for less than $30,000 out the door. 6. Warranty. 10 years. Find a good dealership though. 7. Amenities: Power side mirrors, fosgate sound, leather, rear view camera, sunroof, heated seats, leather, auto lights, remote start, push start etc. 8. Design and not common. I rarely see it on the streets. All my friends think it's a lexus. They're shocked when I tell them Mitsubishi. 9. Reliable and consumer satisfaction. Read USER reviews of this car. Over 90% are super happy with it including me. 10. Paddle shifters. I'm a stick shift guy but the auto is a God send as I live and work in the city. Paddles makes this fun when I want to go on drives in the valley. 11. Visibility. The windows are huge! The cars these days are trending sloping rooflines. 12. REGULAR GAS. Premium is recommended but the V6 CAN use regular. 13. Handling is fine FOR AN SUV. It's not a 911 or miata. 14. Turning radius. Awesome. 15. Excellent crash rating. 16. GT has regular auto, NOT CVT. Cons 1. I wish I waited for carplay but that's just a nitpick for me. You do lose the extra cubby in the middle with the 2017. 2. City MPG is abysmal. 15mpg maybe. (Philadelphia center city). Highway is as advertised. 27mpg. 3. No rear AC vents. 4. Could have more USB ports. I have a splitter. 5. No lumbar. I initially had backaches but after 3 days, it felt comfy. 6. Less aftermarket support. Go test drive one and you'll be surprised. I tested almost every SUV on the market. CRV, Pilot, Rav4, Highlander, Pathfinder, Rogue, Forester, Outback, Sorrento, CX-9, etc. The Outlander is the best value-to-performance ratio.

Nice to see Mitsubishi has addressed all the little parts on this model ie: the touchscreen, the sunroof blind that now slides with the glass, the power folding mirrors, and the power outlet in the rear, which my 2014 sadly lacks. I am not a fan of electric park brakes though

I bought one new last year I love it. Pulls my boat good and great in the snow. I like it so much that I'm Going to trade in my wife's chevy Cruze for a lancer or Mirage. Mitsubishi is the only brand I'll ever buy again. You just can't beat the value I wish I would of knew more about the company years ago

Ryan Belden definitely. I looked into the journey before I bought this and the journey you have to pay extra for the 3rd row seating and has less space. Also both engine options on the outlander have been around for a long time so they have all the quirks out of them and are very smooth and reliable. Mitsubishi also has the best warranty 10 year/ 100k miles

sleepybird09 they updated the lancer in 2016 however 2017 is the last model year for the lancer. I did get a good deal and ended up with a 2016 AWD lancer. So now we have 2 Mitsubishi we really enjoy them. Mitsubishi is going to be focusing more on suvs and only have the mirage sedan and hatch for cars. They are releasing a new SUV for 2018 "eclipse cross"

Good choice, my daughter had a Lancer and she loved it until a guy driving like a nut in a mustang hit her at a high speed and both cars were totaled. Both side windows smashed out but she was not hit by any glass since the side curtain airbags when off. Both cars went into a spin and hit each other a second time. She walked away with bumps and bruises but thank GOD she was fine. I wanted to tell you about it to let you know it is a safe car. When I saw the car I could not believe she was not more injured. She now has an Outlander Sport and loves it. My husband has the 2017 Outlander and he said it is his favorite vehicle that he has ever had.

I'm in Canada and I have the 2016 AWC ES Premium. Trims here don't have the same feature combination as in the US thus I wish we had the SAWC on the ES premium and not only the 6cyl trims... I did not want the 6cyl that always comes with 3rd row that is useless for my needs and removes cargo space... But the SUV is among the most spacious inside for the segment yet seats are firm indeed... I wish I had the 2017 features like electronic parking break blind spots and lane warning systems. the new infotainment is nice too but goes with higher trims... In any case this suv is good value for money and I am satisfied overall as a safe winter friendly suv for my family... however handling does not feel well composed and does not give a confident ride offroad.

I love my car BUT...It is a shame that some Mitsubishi dealers will try to find any excuse not not to honor the bumper to bumper 60,000 Mile Warranty. No matter how great of a product is...if you have issues and you take it to the dealership to get fixed and you are given the run around so the dealership does not have to bother to send a warranty claim to Mitsubishi that will hold their money for some time. Mitsubishi dealers are digging their own grave and soon they will be just like Suzuki Dealers....GONE...

Chummy Chime there wouldnt be that much difference on developed world market. The joint will show its face in the developing market. Probably launching 2 similar platform car with different pricing range like the toyota-daihatsu. Low mpv, sub low mpv, city car with 1-1.3l engine. Those kinda thing.

not your best review. the models are ES, SE, SEL, GT. Given your height I have to conclude you had the second row all the way forward, or close to it; IME it has the most second row legroom of any compact/midsize SUV in the US market when the second row is moved back all the way . the third row is indeed useless: no one in their right mind would ever use it. the 2.4 has about the same power most of the non-turbo SUV's in its segment and performs a lot better (ie power curves and CVT mating) than the likes of the RAV4, Rogue, or Terrain - it's actual competitors. The CVT is... well, it's a CVT so it's crap, but it is one of the nicest CVTs out there. The AWC system is simply excellent. OEM tyres are utter garbage. Good cargo space with the third row down, which it airways will be.

Everyman Driver wow. really? you're going to argue the semantics rather than take on board constructive criticism? substitute the word 'video' for 'review' if you want. look, I'm not sorry in the slightest, but it was a poor video compared to your usual standard. lots of outright errors and several odd statements. and yes, I watched the whole thing.

Kai Liu They're better than he showed in my experience. He had to have had the front seat all the way back and the second row all the way forward to get it that bad. I'm six four and had no problems front and back.
