@@thegawdvegito4260 The only defence argument he tried to make was right near the end when he tried to bring up product recalls for that model of car.... basically he tried to blame a stuck throttle. However this was AFTER he'd tried to cast doubt on if he was even the driver for the entirety of the proceedings up to that point. He also made no mention of a stuck throttle during his initial interrogations after arrest even though he made statements that effectively admitted that he drove through the parade.

I don't know exactly what happened I missed about 00:45 of the feed and it seems she was on count 2 then mentioned count 3 briefly and then we went on to count 4. Edit: this clarified things.

Honestly, I believe it was God's will that he represented himself. He was his own undoing. His representing himself showed not only the jury, but the country who this man really is. With how he showed how he handled his anger in court makes me think it was only a matter of time before someone got hurt. Then, turns out, he punched his ex and her friend. His anger has been a problem for a long time and it was on full display in court.

As much as the judge shielded the jury from much of his conduct, they saw enough of his conduct to see that he did not take this seriously and his closing argument was about how he was the victim in all of this. I've seen juries take days for 5 counts. They took 3 hours for 76. And that was mostly just paper work most likely. So they just went in the room for the foreman to sign the verdict forms. Thank God for that jury.
