Jura Ena 8 Automatic Espresso Machine - Review from GearDiary.com

Perry from GearDiary.com reviews the elegant Jura Ena 8, an automatic espresso machine that fits any kitchen. We found it to be simple to use, thanks to its color screen, and thought it makes delicious coffee and espresso drinks.

I have and love the same machine. Nice job with the video. It was disappointing that nowhere in or on the packaging was there a "What's Inside" list. Also, only one water hardness testing strip. My tap water was extremely hard so I invested in a TDS water hardness tester from Amazon for less than $15. Well worth it. Using Crystal Geyser water now. Noticed that you used the milk tube without the clear plastic tip on the suction end. Even though it works that way the clear tip has an end hole and slot to prevent it from sucking itself to the wall or bottom of the milk container. This is not made clear in the instructions, another small disappointment.

Thanks for your feedback! I do agree with you that the instructions are somewhat lacking.

Do you have to clean milk system daily? Does it not flush with water after use? Thank you!

I don’t use milk daily but I tend to clean it every time after I use milk. I’m sure the system flushes with water but I’d rather not chance it.

do you have to clean the milk system every time ? is this a common thing for all fully automatic systems or are there machines that self clean between milk drinks

Whether you HAVE TO clean the milk system after every use may be debatable, however I would recommend it and I’m sure Jura does as well since the machine displays a red icon reminding you to clean the milk system after using the milk system. That said, if you’re making multiple milk drinks, I’m sure cleaning once a day is sufficient. You do not need to clean in between milk drinks. I would imagine this is a very common situation with these fully automatic machines with complex milk systems.

We don't perform the official milk clean daily. We disconnect the hose and flush it with water, fairly high pressure and then shake out any droplets so the hose is free from water, leave it to dry. Disassemble the "head" and rinse each of the 3 pieces, leave them to drip dry. This is easier and quicker than running the official milk cleaning system, we run this perhaps once a week.

Have had this machine for 5 months. As my wife is a tea drinker I only make one morning milk based drink. Using the included two section cup I run the cleaning cycle immediately with water only. Disassembled mechanism once and it was spotless inside.

Hey, nice video! I got this machine recently. When I clean the milk system, there is so much steam and it makes screen foggy, is this normal?

EV8. You dont have the slick touch screen of the more expensive E8 it’s a manual touch screen. It’s about a $1000 difference. I think to have the self cleaning and less hassle. I want to save the money but for if you have the $ I’d get the E8 so wonderful.

Could you talk even more like you're paid by Jura to make them sell more of these. Had to click out of here after a minute of you talking positive marketing.
