Jupiter Hell | I Love This Game

Ойындар

ChaosForge's Jupiter Hell is one of the best produced roguelike games I've ever seen, and it's just so fun to play too.
I'm not very good at it but I hope you enjoy the playthrough nonetheless!
Grab it over at Steam, it's on sale with a massive discount until 20th May 2024: store.steampowered.com/app/81...

My favorite traditional rogue like. I’m not very good at this either but it’s helluva fun. Very good video showcasing why this is so fun. Have you seen Path of Achra? It recently came out of early access and is also crazy fun with a unique spin on character builds.

Yeah this game is great, I do love it! As for Path of Achra, I've had a quick look, it looks very cool but not gotten around to picking it up yet! It looks kinda like those streamlined roguelikes I don't like so much but I'm willing to give it a shot since I keep being told it's great!

Yeah, it’s a streamlined game, but it does that to focus you on the build and how it performs rather than classical rogue dungeon crawler exploration. The combat is more simplified as well, as the builds for the most part auto-run themselves. But the point of the game is build experimentation and focuses on just that. I don’t know how long term replayable it is (I suspect not much), so I don’t personally consider it a desert island game, but more of a medium term game until the build exploration novelty wears off.

My issue with PoA is that the best builds rely on summoning. So if you want to win, you get some sort of ranged attack that lets you hit a couple different elemental types, then summon nonsense while pressing 5 on the numpad over and over again.

I'll have to check it out, it sounds cool! I'm still fudging my way through learning to finish ADOM right now :D

@@battlemodePoA has so many possible combinations for your build that I doubt anyone will 'finish' the game for a looong time. The developer is a single person, Ulfsire, who obviously cares greatly for this project based on his interaction with the community and the constant updates/balances. I'd highly recommend it based on just those facts, but I've also gotta mention the price... Less than $10. Treat yourself to a wild time, check out Path of Achra.
