POUND LIKE for Junna's incredible endurance and dexterity behind the kit! *also, i'm sorry again for the video quality. I am trying to use a real camera, but that means adjusting all the settings, and i forgot to open up my aperture before filming this for a half hour, so ...it'll get better i promise!*

One viewer in one of her videos commented one time that all she knows how to do is smash the drums hard. He was so wrong! She hits hard, but still executes the proper dynamics when needed. Always spot on, with lots of very cool fills, and is literally the MOST ENTERTAINING Drummer on the planet, with all her cool expressions and crazy movements, while executing flawlessly. Her feet are so fast it always sounds like a machine gun going off! Thanks Wave for the Reaction!

Hmmm. Her almost grimmacing facial contortions annoy, detracting from my ability to appreciate her talent. I get the jarring impression of someone flailing at random. I guess she can drum. But I like Kanade, Senri, and especially Yoyoka.

Junna is a wild pocket rocket. Great to see a great expressionist. It's her style and considering she's playing some very quick fills,it really requires immense skill and coordination. She's 1 of the worlds great female drummer. Music is about entertainment and Junna provides that in a big way. Never knock it. This is rare talent.

This could be her audition for Marty Friedman. His long time drummer Charrrrgggeeee (charg-E) plays like Animal, but rocks, is “easy to play with” (steady, signals). & puts on a show for an audience, something that takes an accomplished musician to the next level, it’s entertainment they’re selling, musicianship can’t take all of your focus when they’re paying to see you And Trident is still great, check their new stuff. Unless what you’re missing is the “animation” shock value afterall?

As a musician (& japanophile), you must know Marty Friedman. His latest album of covers includes this song. The video includes a itty bitty hint to the meaning of the song, an appearance by Jason Becker (his 80s bandmates, arguably greatest guitarist ever), and special guest appearances (video only) of RoiLoiRo (say Roy Roy Row), a band that is catching the attention of big stars (BabyMetal guitarist Ohmura, Gacharic Spin, Marty and more, tv shows, etc.). The attraction? They are ages 7,7,&8, and they rock, like an early Asterism, like putting out XJapan covers, and already having multiple originals on KZread. Start with the familiar, Makenaide by Marty Friedman, but move on the the kids, not virtuosos yet, but closer to that than to a gimmick! kzread.info/dash/bejne/iX-mqcVmgr2qdKw.html

Cool reaction Sir but have to say I'm not a fan of Junna, appreciate her skill behind the kit but find myself watching her instead of listening, kind of reminds me of a guitar player I worked with for a short while, he would be running all over the stage while shredding like a lunatic, very skilled but very distracting

The whole reason for going to concert is to see a show. And moving around on stage and interacting with the crowd and band members is part of that. There are exceptions to that of course depending on how big the stage is. My point is I'm paying money to see a show and I want to be entertained not just watch x number of members stand there and just play the music and not do anything else that's boring I could just save myself money and listen to them at home instead.

@@Statykx If that's what you like and enjoy Sir then good for you. Myself as a drummer I like to promote the band I'm playing with at the time, not myself. I feel it is my job to help make the band sound as good as possible. That means playing the drum parts as well as possible and not distracting the bass player, like people like Neil Peart and Ian Paice, they sit behind the kit, play their stuff and always enhance the sound of the band, but hey, that's just me, we're all different. I hope you continue to enjoy your concerts

I love this thread because there are no right and wrongs when it comes to music taste! I appreciate a skilled musician who’s a team player and doesn’t detract from other members, but I also love great stage presence. (It’s hard to find both because most people can’t play well while also showing off [me]) Anyway thank you all for sharing your personal taste! Honest discourse is always better than an echo chamber.
