I enjoyed the video! I liked the various views. Would love to see more videos of you flying.! I just sold by tandem Dominator and I'm having major withdraw symptoms :) I'm shopping for plans and saw the Hornet and was wondering if it would be something I would like to build. Hope you don't mind my asking you questions. Did you build yours from a kit or just plans? What rotor head and blades did you go with? Size? What engine did you go with? What was total cost of just the gyro w/o engine and rotor? I noticed you had little to no stick shaking - nice. Also noticed your LED instruments - never seen them before. What are they??? Thanks and keep flying!!! -Terry By the way, hope to see you and "lil devil" be at Mentone this year.

Terry Baldwin My name is Tom Patterson, you can e-mail me at tpat1515 and see our club Facebook page "Minnesota Gyronauts"Minnesota Gyronauts We have all the videos posted there. I also have a new video of further flight testing at kzread.info/dash/bejne/ppuIj7WIlNG7nLQ.html The Hornets we are flying were the plans taken free off the internet then modified to a "center lie thrust" machine by Denis Shoemaker in Kasota, MN. He made every part in these except for some of the gears and gear boxes to drive the pre-rotator, etc... He actually has a very good single place rotor head that he's building. I believe he uses a two bearing set up. He'll have a few at Mentone for if someone wants to buy one. There are three of these machines and we all use Dragon Wings rotors. Mine are 24' the other two are 23'. Two have the 503 (mine included) but I'm converting mine to a 582. I would never use the 503 again just because it's at it's power limit to fly, nothing extra. Total cost is unavailable, the three of us used the barter system to get everything we needed. Two of us bought the rotors, prop, engine and all the AN hardware for our machinist to buld the airframe parts. As for the LED display, it's an automotive Garmin set on the data collection screen. It gives me ground speed, bearing (general), miles flown, max speed, and time moving. I reset all of the fields before each flight. And... if I get lost, I can find the nearest airport in the pre-loaded memory and get roadway direction to it. I always fly IFR anyway - that's, of course, I Follow Roads.Little devil won't be at Mentone this year but her sister will be. Denis and I will be bringing his Modifies Hornet for the entire week. Look forward to seeing you there!Tom

What did you modify about the Hornet?
