Why do Americans always feel the need to say they are? Iranians, Japanese, Germans, Swiss, Brits, Irish... don't. (I'm that too, just in case you think I must not be.) Now I've done it too!! Damn.

She lost her voice because a minor throat surgery was botched and the doctors messed up her vocal cords. That was in 1997 I believe.
