Julie Andrews may not have her singing voice now, but the public will always be able to listen to her because of the soundtracks that she produced. There are all lot of singers that should have stopped singing a long time ago.

Omg, she is a very sad lady, but a beautiful and fair one too. The lost of her voice is something she could not cope with, I mean it's like a pianist loosing one hand. I am sooooo very sorry for her. Even now in 2018 she seems very sad

she makes me smile and her movie "The Sound of Music" was there for me when i needed it the most. Thank you Julie, love you forever!

2019 Update: She's 84 now.

This interviewer was much better than Barbara Walters. This guy was careful to avoid the emotional, personal questions.

To Danili64--Sometimes hope is all that we have to get us through the day. You should show a little kindness towards someone who has brought so much joy to the world for decades. But you are forgiven, and I pray that when you are faced with a serious illness, accident, or a terrible life changing experience that you have someone to show you some kindness.

Has anyone got a full version of Julie singing here because i would really like to hear it. And i agree sometimes hope is all that we have to get us through the day. It is reassuring that even in the darkest times in our lives there is that glimmer of hope. And as for Julie i pray that one day we may hear once again that enchanting voice

khtx You means pronounces. Why not Fräulein (Froylein)? Not so difficult to say.

It's a sad irony that Julie didn't start her career as a prolific author of children's books until after she was forced to retire from singing due to complications from vocal-cord surgery!

she says that the quote from sound of music is pethetic i dont think it is i think she was a little bit upset dont get me wrong though i love julie andrews i just thought she liked doing the sound of music
