After the resignation of Respect Party chairman Salma Yaqoob, George Galloway is asked if he believes the Respect Party is still a place for women. While giving his answer and discussing the ongoing rape allegations involving Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, George Galloway responds to another member of the audience who calls him a 'homophobe'.
ABOUT GEORGE GALLOWAY:
Few contemporary politicians have attracted as much controversy as George Galloway. A Labour MP from 1987 to 2003, he was an outspoken critic of the policies of Tony Blair and New Labour, in particular the decision to invade Iraq. Fiery comments such as "the best thing British troops can do is to refuse to obey illegal orders" saw Galloway expelled from the Labour Party. But Galloway returned to the political fray by founding the Respect Party and winning Bethnal Green and Bow in the 2005 General Election. Mr Galloway re-entered Parliament in this March as MP for Bradford West and has recently provoked controversy and criticism with his comments on the rape charges against Wikileaks' Julian Assange.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY:
The Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. It has been established for 189 years, aiming to promote debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.

Yeah, he’s not a well man right now. He and Tommy Robinson had a long conversation (through a window) in Belmarsh. Robinson and Galloway HATE each other despite agreeing on a bunch of things. On the things they disagree with - they’ve formed their views through their own lived experience and both believe passionately that they’re fighting for what’s right and just. I can understand both positions but they’re at complete odds with each other. It’s a complex world.

Daniel Smith - He's teetotal. Lifelong. Supposedly never touched a drop. I would think that the fact of him being the most commanding and compelling political orator and debater that this country has to offer would not lead you to opine on the possibility of him being a alcoholic. Junkies of all kinds would never be able to publicly speak with such lucidity as consistently as Galloway does.

Wind Walker Along with racism, anti semitism and misogyny, homophobia is one of those buzz word insults thrown at people in an attempt to silence them. Unfortunately it is often used against the people fighting for the rights of the oppressed. There seems to be this toxic element on the left emerging that is fuelling the rights rhetoric rather than actually sticking up for there own rights.
