Look up bleeding your fish , its a game changer. If you cut the gills on smaller fish or cut the tail on the larger catfish it makes for a better tasting fish.

Totally agree! I started doing this with catfish and I also bleed Crappie! Noticeable difference in taste and your catfish meat will be absolute pearly white!
