Judy Garland - The Harvey Girls - Hayride - Howard Keel - Pagan Love Song
Фильм және анимация
In 1946, "Hayride" was recorded by Judy Garland for "The Harvey Girls" but never filmed. Four years later, however, the melody resurfaced in "Pagan Love Song" sung by Howard Keel.
See which version you prefer! (And see if you can guess who plays the native laundress...)

Judy Garland's version is my favorite! I Love Judy Garland! Judy Garland recorded this catchy, cheerful, delightful, entertaining, happy and uplifting song with chorus first! Howard Keel's is very good!
well the handsome Howard Keel has me singing it so he has my vote!!!!!!
it's a great melody, so i'll take either...
All these versions are superb.....!
I love the Harvey Girls song better, but I love ❤️ ❤️❤️ Howard Keel.
The sound is better in the Keel version, so it's harder to judge on vocals. I think the lyrics are better in the Garland version. People can relate to the fun of a hayride, but maybe not as much to the pleasure of having a house of bamboo. Finally, I'd agree that the Garland version would be better a little slower. Fun to compare.
This is not the complete recording with Judy Garland, Ray Bolger and Chorus and since the number was never filmed the comparison is not fair! This musical number would have been perfect for Judy Garland to sing in her portrayal of Jane in the1950 MGM musical movie Summer Stock or her portrayal of Hannah Brown while Hannah was the singing chorus girl before Don Hewes portrayed by Fred Astaire picked her to be his new dancing partner in the 1948 MGM Classic Musical Movie Easter Parade. I love The Harvey Girls' Recording!

The comparison is completely fair, since you can clearly hear both sets of lyrics. That's the point of the clip.
I love both Judy and Howard but Howards version is more catchy.
I love Judy and everything she sings. If "Hayride" had been in "The Harvey Girls", I would love it. But I think the film is fine without this song. Seeing the full production number in "Pagan Love Song", I feel that it is more appropriate in that film. And it's less rushed. At first, I thought the laundress was Lena Horne, but I cheated. Is that Miss Rita?
I agree with lovesspicychicken!
Good eye! Haha it IS Rita Moreno...
I get the impression this film and no plot...
