She knocks this one right out of the ball park! It's hard to imagine there was a time, when you could tune in each week and see talent like this...

I agree that the JUDY GARLAND SHOW was perhaps the best legacy left to us by Judy. Most of us today weren't old enough or born yet to see Judy in Concert. Thank God for her Albums espcecially Carnegie Hall, but there is nothing like both seeing AND hearing her perform! This was the beginning of the end to Judy Garland, because it was huge disaster for that TV show not to be successful at the time. I bet if CBS aired her shows on a television special today the ratings would be off the charts.

When she's in top form, which seems quite often, there's not an entertainer who comes close to generating the vocal and visual excitement Judy Garland achieves.

Just watch the power of GARLAND as she sails out onto the stage to sing "Sail AWAY"! She commanded the stage and the entire studio with her presence!

When Judy was singing her heart out like that she must have put aside all her personal tragedies and troubles.

I swear to GOD every single time I watch this Opening number, I get chills at how she CLAIMS that stage and audience. You can literally feel the energy from Her, the Orchestra and the enitre Audience! Her energy is off the charts SHE hits this song dead on! Just like a Marksman hits his bullseye! What a woman what a performer. The women singers today should be embarrassed to call what they do singing. LOL I laugh when I hear people on TV call Lindsay Lohan a Legend. This is WHAT MAKES A LEGEND!

Judy is soulful & sophisicated in this killer version of "Sail Away" & so exciting to watch...the wonder of Judy was that she had more talent than anyone yet many seems so threatened by her magificent abilities and never understood that and still don't...industry support stopped right after TV show went off and she struggled without management and recording contracts last five years of her life...this was sick but now on youtube everyone gets to see how great this giant really was...Bravo Judy

I don't agree that "many seems so threatened by her magnificent abilities." I was a fan for the last decade of her life and recall all the things she did and got herself into. No one ever questioned her talent or abilities. But, getting involved with her professionally was always risky. She could be unreliable and capricious and even just absent. Always great on stage, but getting her there could prove hair-raising. That's why she faced obstacles, not because people were jealous of her talent.

I'm old enough to remember these CBS TV shows when they were new & I was in High School. What a wonderful warm memory of Judy.

This song was written by Noel Coward who was a good friend of Judy's You can always tell when she really loves a song because she's so alive and relaxed when she's singing it and gives it all she's got It would be nice to think she knew Coward would be watching her singing this on TV so she really went to town (and when Judy goes to town...)

urgh.. once upon a time you could switch on the tv and this megatalent would come blasting through and punch you in the solar plexus. 50 years later it seems talent has died, because now we are reduced to 'dr pimple popper' and 'gogglebox' - watching other people sat on their sofas watching dr pimple popper on their tvs. Judy, thank god for you. really. you keep me sane.

When Judy sings any kind of New song that isnt in her Repertoire She seems to put her own stamp and makes it her own. Usually when someone sings a song that belongs to another artist, I findmyself thinking, '' gee stevie wonder, or so and so sings it much better''. Judy is a true artist, where you love whatever song she sings.

Liza and Lorna cannot come close to their Mother's Voice. Once you hear the belting original, nothing else will do! Judy had the style and the Charisma. This Woman defines what True Talent really is!

I love this episode, Judy seems so happy and the fans are great. A lot of the series seemed to be filled with CBS execs and were a bit 'refined'. They should have let the fans have the whole audience. I'm sure Judy would have liked that more.
