Tamerlan Tmenov is a Russian judoka of Ossetian descent. He competed at +100 kg and openwieght categories. Tmenov is one of the best judokas that haven't won Olympic gold or World Championships. He has Olympic silver and bronze, two World silver medals and two bronze medals, he is also 7-time European champion. Tmenov relied on his fantastic technical abilities and grappling IQ, that's why he was one of the most exciting judokas to watch.

Tmenov had the best judo I’ve ever seen from heavyweight player. Hats off to this guy ! You don’t see many guys in the heavier weights with his same throwing repertoire

Grappler Kingdom He was definitely able to win. Pretty sure he had wins over all the world Champions of his time. Except Teddy maybe.

Tmenov had a hard time fighting against Japanese players 2000 Olympics he was thrown by Shinohara 2004 Olympics he was thrown by Suzuki 2008 Olympics he was pinned by Ishii and he could never win against Muneta Tmenov should have won against Van Der Geest in the final at the 2005 Worlds Cuz he had had an big advantage over the dutch But he missed out the biggest opportunity to be world champion

There are a lot of parallels between them, both are from Ossetia region, if I'm not mistaken both trained under the same coach, both have similar body type and Judo style.
