His real name is Jarji Zviadauri. He is representing himself under the Greece flag. He was born in Georgia, in Khevsureti mountains His cousin brother is another Georgian Olimpic Dzudo champion of Olimpic games 2004, the great Zviad Zviadauri

Yes, he is an ethnic greek, like so many others around the Black Sea. My grandparents were also greeks who lived in Crimea.

The Georgians always know who is who in his country ..from times immemorial..as all Georgians, remember who was Medea, and the Greeks do who is Jason..

@@JonLondrezos He is Georgian he was legaly adopted by the Greek national team coach (whose last name is Iliadis) in otder to represent Greece in 2004 olympiad. Greeks are generally proud of him though

who was the best iliadis? iliadis -81kg or iliadis -90kg?

Iliadis is far from the biggest in terms of size in -90kg category, I think he was fitted better for -81kg, but he achieved it all at -90kg too, so I don't think category really matters, he is good in any category.

I think ilias at -81kg looked very strong and invincible. Maybe the weight cut was tough for him to stay at this weight class.

Agree, he was so strong at 90kg, in 81kg the strength advantage would be unfair. Like you said the cut was probably too hard to maintain regularly.

@@canonisensys1653 No man you are wrong.He didnt turned his back.In 2003,when he started representing Greece there was very bad time here in Georgia,he had no conditions here at all,so he made a difficult decision for him and started representing Greece,country which could give enough conditions to feel himself an athlete.So he respects the country which could give him everything and represented it every time.Thats it.

@@valeritabatadze1188 First of all, Jarji Zviadauri WAS his name, not anymore. He changed it. So? blood and roots are something you can't choose, they don't determine to what country you belong to. You can change your nationality. Just for money? people don't change their names just for money. By your logic, if someone is Georgian by ethnicity, then Georgia owns them? you are not entitled to share Ilias' success just because you might share ethnicity and origination, don't forget that.

Vous avez totalement raison ! Il est l'un des mes judokas préférés juste pour son côté physique. Sinon, le judo doit être toujours représenté par la souplesse. Ilyas c'est un bon, mais lorsque tu le compare par exemple à takanori nagase du Japon, tu vois en nagase le judo pure, une force qui se dissimule dans la souplesse. Même quand vous regardez kosei inoué, il avait la force mais ne se sentait pas à l'œil vu que son ushimata était parfaitement exécuté. Tandis que Ilyas, tu vois souvent l'utilisation de la force dans ses projection, chose qui ne correspond pas vraiment à l'esprit du judo. Merci 🌹🌹🌹

@@jean-philippelebot9056 ce n'est évidemment pas exclusif, mais c'est très prépondérant dans la préparation. À ce titre, je vous conseille de trouver le reportage de préparation de Teddy Riner au Japon, ou il justifie ce choix de préparation exactement pour ces mêmes raisons.

I believe that some forms of wrestling/grappling were cultivated in all ancient civilizations independent from each other, tough it's hard to prove that because through out centuries a lot of information gets lost.
