This is 100% the fault of the public for not demanding more strict penalties for these types of crimes. DUI, just DUI by itself, should be minimum 5 years on the 1st offence, 20 years on the 2nd.

Obviously, the tough-on-crime DeSantis dream is just that ... a dream. This Florida Man should have been sitting in one of DeSantis's tough-on-crime prisons.

Im chronically ill with major anxiety and ocd. For most prescriptions they say not to operate heavy machinery until you know how the medications effect you. I take xanax for my anxiety, and .25 mg doesnt feel any different except i dont yell at every minor inconvenience. But i dont feel loopy, tired, disoriented, etc.. ive asked my doctor and he said if i dony experience those more dangerous symptoms, legally i am fine to drive while on it. Same with hydrocodone, a small dose doesnt make me feel anything different than not being in pain. And we all know that marijuana stays in your system for a couple weeks, so this guy could have smoked a while ago and just had it in his system. Id really like to know more, like what those prescriptions were, how long he'd been prescribed them, and how long ago he smoked. If this were in a state more relaxed about marijuana, i doubt he'd have these charges.

This news report and others have said all the workers had a H-2A nonimmigrant work visa. That's the most common visa for temporary farm workers.
