Judas Priest, are you kidding us? 🤯 Crown of Horns reaction

Judas Priest are back with a new single Crown of Horns. And in all honesty, this song has gotten me and most Judas Priest fans puzzled. So in this reaction & review episode let’s take a look at what's inside the new Judas Priest song Cron of Horns, its lyrics, guitar solos, and hopefully answer the question what Crown of Horns tells us about the new Judas Priest album Invincible Shield which will be released on March 8, 2024.

Huh? I thought this had more classic Judas Priest sound than what they've in couple of decades? I definitely hear Screaking for Vengeance in it, and Ram it Down. But most of all, I think it reminds me of Point of Entry. I think it has very 80's radio friendly metal feel to it. I love it!

If anyone is wondering about the symbolism, the horns are cut from all the demons you've had to defeat along the way, and yes, it is a direct reference to the biblical Crown of Thorns our Savior was forced to wear - hence the line, "all the blood He shed." The secondary meaning of the horns is a nod to metal being what it is, and how horns have been associated with metal since Dio made that sign against the evil eye so many years ago. The song is definitely about personal journey, and regardless of what you believe, we've all had our share of demons to face throughout our lives. @MetalPilgrim Stay safe, friend, and there's no need to apologize. You're enduring the worst war the 21st century has seen so far. You have more than earned that rest.

the guitar and harmonies in crown of horns are definitely my favourite out of the three current singles, of course the power of panic attack and the grit of trial by fire are incredible and difficult to compare to each other because they are so different, but the intro to crown of horns just got my heart pumping immediately. I don’t think I would consider it a ballad, but it id say it is a ballad equivalent when it comes to lyrical choice and cleaner harmonies

Very melodic and mid tempo tune. I love how people are complaining about it. Not every track is going to be speed metal with Rob screaming his lungs out. The biggest issue I have with them is not letting founding member K.K. Downing back. Ken belongs back before Sneap does! Don't forget The Last Rose Of Summer.

I can relate to the concept of "more emotional connection with the band through power ballads". I saw JP live in january of 2019 in Paris and they played "night comes down". Funnily enough, the daily news "le parisien" said in their review that it was the weakest moment in the show but I strongly dissagreed with them, It was the single most powerful moment I remember from this show. And my strongest memories are always tied with the strongest emotions. This show was incredible as a whole but "night comes down" was truly the most resonating piece of the show with my emotional brain. It was pure magic. And don't worry about release time for this review, I'm glad you could enjoy some peace even just for a day. I heard you had a rough ending for 2023 (understatment) so I'm glad you could take some time for yourself ! I hope that there won't be any air raid at all anymore soon...

Absolute classic example of mid 80s power ballad that would'nt sound outta place from bands like Dokken, Def Leppard, Heart, whatever. And, thats not a bad thing at all. Its well played, written, and its got a killer solo to really hit the heart more. Also good is "Turn on Your Light". I also like the fade out at the end and it actually doesn't fade out completely, which tells me that it leads right into the next track, which may start out either full throttle, or have a set up to the song similar to panic attack and Trial By Fire. It is certainly shaping up to be an interesting album and I am looking forward to hearing the whole thing on March 8.

The crown of horns lyrics sound more pop than a metal ballot. But listening to their early stuff to now, I will give them an 8 out of 10 for effort. But you never know it depends on what the rest of the album sounds like. It might be a 9. Especially when I'm hearing Rocka Rolla when I was 10, when my older brother is rocking out to it. Then get to see them live six years later.

Let's not have a Turbo reaction here gang. Peist has always experimented with styles. I'm impressed that they released 3 singles to get us prepared for a new Priest sound for a song. It's obviously autobiographical for Rob. Is it my favorite of the 4? No but and this is a BIG "But"; I don't hate it and I'm excited to see how the fit it into the rest of the record. I always listen to the whole record when it comes to Priest because it seems like a complete thought when I do. Like backing up at the Van Gogh museum ten feet and realizing there is a whole different painting there than when you are up close.

@@ChazinFl1There was a short snippet of the 4th (back then 3rd) song there that sounded like a fukkin son of Hell Bent For Leather. An absolute opposite of these 3 previous released songs.....man I am excited

There’s also a Guitar Solo at the very start, like the very first second. It’s a great ear-popping guitar solo that you usually would hear closer to the end, and it’s a great one.

Judas Priest's best work. I've been listening to Priest for almost 20 years now. I'm not just referring to the album, Crown Of Horns is for me the best song of his career.

This is one of the most beautiful songs that Priest have ever created. It has the tension and deep introspection of Worth Fighting For and Never The Heroes combined with the power, optimism and Heaven and Earth type message to that goes out to everyone. There are some very compelling emotional dynamics that also empower the song and the solos are just off the charts. I have no complaints about the three songs from this album so far.

Bro if anything from Senjutsu sounded so extatic, interesting and catchy as Crown of Horns I would definitely buy that Senjutsu album, but man.....its long and boring album (there are exceptions like Stratego). Sorry to say that and I love Maiden. To be honest I like Book of Souls more than their last output

I love the fade out, but I wished we could listen to the solo a bit more and then fade out. (well, if I'm really wishing for something, I wished that Rob would make an outro performance like the one on blood red skies)

Crown of Horns is a brilliant song, and I wouldn’t call it a ballad normally, but since it is the legends that wrote Painkiller I DO consider it a ballad. So, is it a ballad? Hell no! Is it a Judas Priest ballad? Hell yeah! 🤘🏻🇸🇪🤘🏻
