Judas Priest Albums Ranked (Worst to Best)
In todays video I'm going to rank the full discography of Judas Priest. Judas Priest has sold over 50 million records and they have been active for half a century. They have many legendary albums, and hopefuuly we get a new album in 2023. So many classic albums in their discography like Painkiller, Screaming for Vengeance, Stained Class and British Steel to name a few. The "Metal God" Rob Halford has fronted the band forevery album besides those two Tim 'Ripper' Owens albums, Jugulator and Demolition which are not nearly as bad as some make them out to be. With two excellent guitarists in K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton and later Richie Faulkner the have laid the foundation for the twin guitar sound that has made them legendary. They have also had a long list of drummers, Scott Travis, Dave Holland and Les Binks being some of them and we can't forget about bassist Ian Hill, the only founding member of the band that's still with them. So today we're going to rank all Judas Priest albums from the worst to the best, Enjoy!!!

Honestly back in 2017 I was afraid Firepower is gonna be another piece of boring tired stuff with cheesy lyrics kinda Redeemer of Souls but I was brutally proven wrong. What makes me especially happy are intelligent and meaningful lyrics that harken back to SWOD album AND melody! Melodies and deeper lyrics on this album is something we haven't been privy in nearly 45 yrs. Amazing album and in my TOP 5 2010's era rock/metal albums

I was 20 when it came out, at the time I was still listening to 'Thrash' and getting into stuff like Alice In Chains Soundgarden etc along with new/old punk, I wasn't a massive Preist fan but 'Painkiller' really blew me away, after that I regularly started listening to the rest of their back catalogue after this and saw them live for the first time in 1991 at the now gone Aston Villa Leisure Centre!

Very tough discography to rank! I know I am in the minority, but for me my favorites are the 70s era - Sad Wings, Sin After Sin and Stained Class. @@andjusticeforearl4742 The way I remember Priest's Owens era is that it was a good and exciting comeback in these times, with a singer who was a very good replacement for Halford. I already liked Iron Maiden in their Bayley days, and although Blaze wasn't nowhere near as good as Bruce, Maiden delivered such a mindblowing album with him, The X Factor (I'm a huge fan of that record, in my top 3 Maiden records without a doubt). So, I'm not one of these annoying no Halford no Priest, no Dickinson no Maiden, no Kiske no Helloween etc. types... Jugulator is OK album but not great, really tried many times to like it, but nothing sticks and clicks with me, except Cathedral Spires. For me, that album was a missed opportunity at a Painkiller pt. 2. They had a technically right singer for that, also interesting influences for inspiration (for Painkiller they were influenced by younger thrash bands and for Jugulator they were kind of fascinated with death metal). Songwriting wasn't memorable, so it ended as an album that promised a lot but did not deliver. Maybe the missing key on Jugulator was exactly Halford, as he was more than just a singer with rich vocal range but also important in songwriting.

Great ranking! It looks like we agree on Painkiller! Such a great album. Turbo made it your top 10 as well. I don’t get why so many people dislike that album, it’s totally under appreciated. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment 🤘🤘

@@andjusticeforearl4742 I'd say Ram it Down is way more under appreciated. For me Under Blood Red skies is a masterpiece of total epicness, and the rest of songs are not that different in quality from those of Screaming for Vengeance or Defenders of the Faith. Yet most rankings I've seen place it under Turbo (which is another good album, but not their best).

@@andjusticeforearl4742 omg same man i saw them last year 2022 and when they played The Sentinel Rob noticed that i've been singing the song along with him the whole time so at the part where it goes: "Now facing one another the stand of eats at time then all at once the silence falls as the bell ceases its chime" he was looking directly at me. Still getting goosebumps today i mean i doesnt happen everyday that the metal God looks directly into you.

Unpopular opinion on Judas priest albums but stained class is by far THE WORST album even compared to demolition and Jugulator. It's unimaginative and Beyond the realms of death is the only decent track on it. Exciter is only good because of the new "speed rock" sound of the 70s compared to what Sabbath was doing.
