to put it plainly, its cuz she's in a group of vocal monsters. if she was in another group her vocal power would shine entirely, but when ur group mates consist of wendy and seulgi, it hard to get out of their shadows.

The Emotions that I hear when they sing this: 1. Wendy - the calm before the storm. She's letting you know she's mad but like...not screaming. 2. Seulgi - Anger in it's middle stage. She's definitely raised her tone but she's not yelling. Showing signs of physical aggression. 3. Joy - The Storm. She's screaming, throwing things, getting her stabby stabby because knives are friends.

The backvocals for all of them are themselves. Irene took part in Seulgi's. But at the end with "your lies", those are backed up with Wendy's.

Come on SM don't be shy, give Joy that promotion to Lead Vocalist alongside Seulgi.

The thing is that, while Joy is an amazing vocalist, she is nowhere near being as good as Seulgi. And Seulgi is not really on Wendy’s level yet, she struggled to sing Wendy’s parts in Psycho but was the only one who could actually sing them.

Wouldn’t say so. That ‘other group’ would definitely be subpar on the vocal department if the best they could get was Seulgi. Don’t get me wrong, she can sing! But she’s no main vocalist material.

Hands down WENDY is my girl. Her voice touches me because it's heart felt as with Joy's so tender and sweet. Seulgi is very bright I think when she starts using dynamics and feeling, her singing will touch me too although her 28 Reasons was a killer.
