Greats pieces of advice! I also teach my people to ask the most important questions in their life and release it, and revisit it systematically to brainstorm the answers .. and you’d find it amazing that once you start trusting your unconscious mind for solutions, it’s brilliant at it - and the flow of life becomes so much smoother.

This is really good. I've never heard anyone before who seems to understand what I've notice over many years. If I start out the morning fixing my plumbing - the rest of the day I'm a plumber, if I start out as a photographer - well then I'm a photographer the rest of the day. The problem is when I have a photo shoot scheduled for the afternoon, but I have to fix a leak in my darkroom or bathroom in the morning, that can kind of screw me up when I switch to photography later. I can still do it, but there's no 'flow' instead I find myself forgetting simple things that are usually automatic.

30 second recap: Tim: How do you structure a performers day? Josh: Well there is no "one size fits all", people do best at different times during the day. Tim: How can we know what time is best for us? Josh: We usually can know if we are a little more observant. I will say that one thing I have noticed that works for everyone is brainstorming immediately before bed and immediately after waking up. 🙏👍

This obviously sounds "woo-woo" to some people but I actually think if you look past that and take his advice as practical it makes allot of sense. People struggle with long term goals because the present moment is full of distractions and the goals they have are vague and distant. However, if you take this guy's advice he would have you specify your most important goal and focus some thought towards it every day helping you keep it in your mind focused on it over the long term

  • @brotendo

The reason why it's "woo-woo" is because he is overly verbose and disorganized about delivering an extremely simple message: Take time to figure out and focus on what's important, schedule time for it, and minimize distractions. Wow. Someone fucking pay me for being a guru now.

I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep-pour cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser. Then a honey-almond body scrub; and on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, then a moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

You probably wouldn't want to say that expression with your circle of friends or with casual friends, they will definitely plot to toss you from what they see as your "high horse" or they'll just ban you from the group by limiting spending time with you, because they believe you to be pretentious. But personally, I thought "day architecture" was a good new way of valuing your time and the new day that you realize you've been granted when you open your eyes in the morning.

@@arturo7392 Thank you for clarifying what you meant by "new". I can't stand shallow obsessions like wanting things to be "new". I hear you with all those demands (for lack of a better word) that you're engaged with. I've been shit at managing my own demands (a lot of one step forward and 2 steps back, it's bullshit, I have to change). Here's what I heard Josh say: 1.) You have to know the details and nuances of your own self. 2.) Position your meaningful activity (the stuff you want to do, not the stuff you have to do) as something you do on purpose, and do it separate from your obligations, meaning do it NOT as a reaction to your obligations but do your meaningful work ON PURPOSE with it's own devoted time, and it's own devoted energy. 3.) Go to sleep with the most important unanswered question of the day on your mind. Not in a neurotic way, just in a mulling seek to solve way. Sleep well, don't let your obligations "come at you"; maintain focus on the primary things that matter to you. 4.) When you wake up the channel between the conscious and unconscious mind is open, but not for long! Stay with the open channel and go through what the mind may have come up with for solutions and direction on the focus that you gave it the night before. Did you hear that as well?
