As a Bama fan, I never hated Georgia. Never felt they were a rival like Auburn or Tennessee. Hated to see Kirby leave but will never hate him, rather I'll always love him for what he did at Alabama.

Coming out of our few games in Tuscaloosa, I always told Bama fans to put it on Tennessee for us in October, and they'd tell us to put it on Auburn for them in November. Lots of agreement.

I'm just thankful I got to watch so many Kirby vs Saban game, and I'm gonna miss it. Also, anyone assuming Bama is going to be a shell of itself are in for a rude awakening. I hate them as much as almost anyone, but I'm not blind to how good of a coach KB is.

I actually think the rivalry can intensify even more. Imagine being a Georgia fan convincing themselves for all these years that the only reason they weren’t better than bama was because of Saban and for deboer to come in and bama still doesn’t miss a beat. That would really piss them off.

Sure kirby copy and pasted the Saban system into the UGA program and they’re good. But if NIL has taught us anything it’s that teams like Auburn, Missouri, with good coaches in their own right can now beat that system since they’re able to get the talent

As a Bama fan living in Georgia, it's been a great rivalry. I've had many great discussions and trash talks with my Georgia friends. Saban retiring will always be bittersweet for me. It's going to be difficult not to watch him come out of the tunnel or be on the sidelines. It was a thing of beauty. I understand it's a new era with new adjustments, but it will forever be Roll Tide. 🐘 🐘 🐘 🐘 🐘 🐘

That different way of doing things that Smart brought to UGA is called the Saban Process.

Coach Deboer beat Oregon twice when everyone was putting stock in Oregon to beat Washington in the second game. Well, let's see where Alabama stands this year!

The Alabama Georgia matchups have certainly been exciting and entertaining for years. Coach Saban built Bama up and had it rolling along with great success. Coach Smart is doing the same type of thing in Athens and it doesn’t appear to be something that will let up in short order. Can Coach DeBoer have the same level of success ? The odds would say that there’s not much likelihood that CKD can maintain the same level of dominance as CNS, but he’s known nothing but success so far in his career, he’s inherited a wealth of talent and is bringing in more, he seems ultra focused on the task and has the will to succeed. I’m not saying he’s the same or better than Coach Saban. I’m just saying it should be interesting to watch him attack the team goals. Because Georgia is doing well, playing them gives us the opportunity to see clearly where we stand and where to improve. I’m always happy for a smashup with the Bulldogs. Iron sharpens iron ! RTR

Never thought of Georgia as a Rival, I was irked that we didn't play during 2022 because we would have shown what you saw the next time we got to play, an L for the dogs. Looking forward Bama ending the tired old 30 year old Saban system that's feeling a bit dated. Saban knows what his system has issues with, so We went out and got a QB whispererrrrr Kirby and Nick hated Elite QBs...Remember Ohio State,and Bama put 40 on that Elite Defense... Georgia played the easiest Schedule for a decade or more, while getting full SEC credit for the essentially an ACC West level experience, just gotta really worry about 2 games and one of those Games is the SEC Championship... boring Home Slate of games, but Geez its like getting a Bye in NCAA tournament,,, and Georgia TALKING HEADS are amazed at how hard the new schedule is.... Dont hear any Bama people saying anything... we already played that type of schedule.. Im looking forward to the level field, and the continuation of being BAMA You can carve up our history all you want, but Bear said it BEST...." we ain't never been nothing but winners", while Georgia and Auburn play Dress UP, and CoPy Each Others every Song, CHeer, Future Cheer, move , Im surprised the colors difference lasted..so, stick to what you know, we will as welll... I would feel like an ass to complain in my prayers about it, sadly the glutten in me says, no, we going to do what we do, hopefully get another 4 before I depart this world. Georgia is a formidable opponent, however we will be ok... Kirby's fear of his assistants leavin is a reflection of what he did to Nick.. the football GODS gave Saban that BATTLE with ELITE QBs .. Kirby knows Defense but that offense under BOBO is in mediocre hands, local guy, not too crazy, dont want him taking the playbook to another team... so get the local boys that you trust, cause you never know who might steal things on the way out. Watch out for the VOLS, I hate em, but, nervous about that QB, and that offense is scary good when he has a QB, Nick won with Offense, and Recruiting, so the system is facing some tests.. time will tell

If we stop looking at it as Saban is gone how much worse is Alabama going to be and instead look on it as how does Kalen DeBoer and this current roster compete.

I actually think this rivalry could get even more wild now. Think about this for a second. Saban is retired, Georgia fans breathing a sigh of relief, they can finally take over the SEC now right? We’re gonna march into Tuscaloosa and beat Bama by double digits. But what if? What if Milroe has a Heisman moment, Bama’s D plays lights out, and Bama smacks Georgia yet again? I’m telling you if that happens and Georgia comes up short against Bama and their new coach, that rivalry is going to get even more intense.

UGA '05 - Florida always seemed like a bigger rival in my tenure. I like the "Cold War" analogy. Nothing but respect for Saban. Much like the hated Steve Spurrier, the program building speaks for itself.

@@BB-ce5ev They were a perennial 10-11 win team / year. They just always choked a game or two and it kept them from the National Title. Even after Kirby took over, they still kept choking on cupcakes occasionally like that 2019 game against South Carolina. A lot of people heavily criticized UGA when they fired Mark Richt, because he couldn't get over the hump. They pointed to programs like Nebraska after they fire Bo Pelini, success is never assured and firing someone for winning 10+ games a year has caused many a program to pitch into the abyss. So yeah, UGA was already built for success before Kirby got there. They had good recruits, staff and facilities. They just couldn't put it all together.

Getting pretty damm close in 2002 football too probably didn't help matters, thinking we're already there, don't need to do anything else but have a few breaks go our way. Those are such small sample sizes compared to over 100 years of football. Had Texas and Bama played every year since Texas lost to Bama in the 2009 BCS Championship game then Bama undoubtedly would've had like 10 in a row or more until this NIL stuff started up and now yall can theoretically buy all the championships you want being so much richer than everyone else.

People seem to forget that Bama went through a bad probationary period when Georgia was beating us along with everyone else. We are light years beyond that period. I respect Georgia but please keep sleeping on DeBoer.🐘

bama will be falling off starting this season. they could still make the playoffs, but said appearances are tainted due to there being 12 slots instead of 4 slots. deboer IS NOT the answer and wont be there more than 4 years.

Bama has beaten GA 4 of the last 5 times they played. The only loss was after Bama spanked GA in the SEC championship game and lost both starting wide receivers that combined for 250yds and 3 TD's against them, and Bama still was leading late in the 4th qtr. we have never considered GA to be a top tier rival. We do now because after feeling sorry for them for years we gave them a real coach that could bring them up to our level. This year, I think we will spank them again on our way to Mr. Milroes' Heisman quality season and our next chance to get #19 (natty). RTR!

I think Kaylan DeBoer can win just as much as Nick Saban if he goes back to a pocket passer he’s not going to do it with Jalen Milroe
