The team is staked. It was really good last year but they were missing a QB. They added the best QB in the portal and then added players throughout the whole team. Most of the impact guys from last year returned. They are also loaded in the trenches.

As a Miami fan I agree with you, but it's the brand, we pay the price in Basketball when our team is good, but North Carolina, Duke and other blue bloods get ranked ahead of us for the same reason... But on point, we are winning the offseason again, and I love Mario because he is a cane, but he has not proven himself to be a good game manager, recruiting is only one piece of coaching... With that being said... GO CANES!!!

The Transfer Portal takes a little pressure off the need for always having a top High School class each year. Evaluations of more game ready players to fill holes caused injury or missed HS evals is a great recovery tool for teams with a good roster and Program.

History says ohio state beats Oregon, Oregon beat osu once? And lost like 5 games? It's something like that, 1-5.

The LSU '06 team was the 1st in college history to have 1st round picks at QB and 2 WRs in the same draft. The LSU '07 team went on to win the CBSNCG with an offense that increased its ppg numbers and a defense that actually gave up more ppg than '06 defense. Point being do not count out the tigers because of what they lost to the draft.

What should the preseason rankings be based on? Nobody has played a game. With the transfer portal, a lot of teams have new faces. I could agree with your Miami comment, but if you actually look at the rosters and not the names on the jerseys, you would/should think differently. So, much of these rankings is perception. For example, FSU fans troll Miami and Cristobal going 11-13 in his initial 2 years at Miami. However, FSU was 8-13 in Norvell's initial 2 years at FSU. FSU won 10 games after 4 consecutive losing seasons. They lost 80% of their offensive production from 2023, yet are being ranked #11 here. Why? The entire FSU 2024 WR room had 57 catches in 2023. including the production of transfers at their previous school. How could this team be ranked at # 11 based on anything except perception and projection? This is perception based on a 2023 season in which 80% of that offense is gone for 2024. So, this is a projection because there aren't a lot of experienced playmakers. Contrast FSU to Miami. Miami returns the #1 and #2 returning WRs in the ACC. They were #2 and #4 in 2023. Jacolby George had the same number of catches (57) as the entire FSU 2024 WR room, including the production of their transfers at their previous schools. Miami arguably has the best QB in the ACC, throwing to the most experienced and productive WR room in the ACC, with the #1 or #2 RB in the ACC in 2023 1st team All PAC-12 RB Damion Martinez. Miami has the best OL in the ACC. In 2023, Miami beat Clemson and lost to FSU on the road by 7 with the same True Freshman QB in both games. Now, they have an upgrade at QB1 in Cam Ward, other proven productive transfers, and players from back to back top 10 recruiting classes. Miami has proven experience at every position and nearly all their 2-deep. So, put aside your hatred for Miami and compare their roster of proven players compared to their rivals. They are actually ranked lower than their roster suggests, while FSU is elevated based on previous seasons, not their current roster. This is a fact. #83 in returning production. Most of their transfers don't have a lot of college production, yet JD is spitting the "projection" of talent on the FSU roster. Wait, I thought he said he said these rankings weren't based on projection?

Winning is winning. But to win by 3 points the last two matches vs Oregon isn't exactly "owning". Plus Washington played down to their opponents all season last year. Struggling in games they should have dominated. Debor can be Bamas sloppy seconds though, I'm fine with that.

@@BigMonty686 Joe Sloan was the QB coach. He is the one most responsible for developing Daniels. Denbrock was the TE coach he was responsible for developing Mason Taylor. I am not knocking Dembrock he was a great play caller and responsible for the overall offensive architecture. Cortez Hankton was responsible for the WRs.

@@jstrig I beg to differ because you can’t dismiss being in the top 3 year in and year out. The cupboards are never bare at Ohio state , and don’t forget what we did to your ducks as underdog s with Marcus Marriott’s at the helm and that team was a monster. Ohio state adjusted and it looked like men among boys as the game wore on, then Ezekiel Elliott put a 200+ on that super fast Oregon defense and then our defense just started beating h you guys up at will. Oregon had no shot . When you run the ball down a teams throat and they can’t stop it, game set match . What I’m saying is our teams have history and you guys have played us in bowl games coming in highly rated and the Buckeyes were the real deal . I’m excited for this season because it’s going to be made for tv on almost all of the games with this new team setup

@@user-yb6kr8qd1f In their last matchup, Oregon went to Ohio State and beat them in the Shoe. Oregon's roster is as good or better than Ohio State's. Ohio State might have the better defense, but Oregon has the better offense. This is not the Oregon you remember. Like I said, Oregon is last year's LSU offense and Alabama's defense. Oregon could very well beat Ohio State in the trenches
