Josey Wales: Hell is coming to breakfast

Фильм және анимация

Another classic scene from one of the best Westerns ever made. As with the rest of the movie, it shows the hero's violence does not preclude his kindness or humanity, as he saves two more innocents and takes them under his wing.

Growing up, my dad was like the character Clint Eastwood played in these movies. He looked like him, he acted like him. He was hard like him. His dad, my grandpa, was, at the time, the youngest living son of a Confederate cavalryman. My dad once told me that in a fight, you have little to fear from the guy who runs his mouth--they are mostly cowards. It's the guy who is silent you need to watch out for. He is the one who means business.

Gotta be the best response ever! I am not proud of this and you would need to meet the participants in order to fully understand? Myself and John were leaving a party (I myself was doing ok) but John was becoming increasingly belligerent and like a good friend, I decided it's time to go. On the way out, there was this street sign and I couldn't help kicking this thing, not to cause damage but simply to see if I could kick higher than my head? Just a test with no venom involved? John took hold of the sign, it was still at least 8ft high at that time, he put his hands on both ends and literally crushed it between his great paws! i'm almost speechless here, run would be at the forefront of my brain but you have to admit, that's impressive. Me and John against the world, it would be a great movie if only anybody could understand it? spoiler, watch out for things being crushed in his hands and for me not kicking higher than necessary? I could tell more stories about John, he literally is a force of nature or the time he threw two punches and knocked out two 'serious' dudes, John doesn't say much which is why I love the Reacher character, they have a lot in common, don't talk big if you cannot back it up? Well John says fuckall and he can indeed back it up! Edit, I should have mentioned 'Unforgiven', was that his best? Anyway Pax vobis.

The respect for the Indigenous people was , & still is , a rarity in "westerns" . But I think that line , delivered exquisitely by Chief Dan George , "Get ready little lady , Hell is coming to breakfast." is going to be coming true in the near future . That & , "A man's got to know his limitations" & "Buzzards & maggots got to eat too , same as people ." Hopefully this year ! 2022 !

Notice the tactics: sun at his back, so it's in the enemies' eyes; uses the shotgun first so he can toss it aside and rely on the pistols, so he doesn't have spend time reloading, and gets an extra shot, not to mention the first shot will be lethal and unavoidable at that range; cuts through the middle, using wagons and horses as cover, meaning he can shoot in all directions, but the enemies have to be careful shooting back because they might hit men on the other side of him; he doubles back and forth, making his movements unpredictable and difficult to aim at; chases the last man right into the fire of the woman in the ditch. Notice he doesn't fire, because he knows she's there. He just tries to drive the guy into her line of fire. Since she's in a ditch, she'll be shooting up, and so won't actually be firing in Wales' direction. I'd be curious to know who choreographed the fights in this movie. This movie is filled with some surprisingly good fights.

@@mayamanign In the book (which did come first) he had 7 pistols. One on either hip (1 & 2), one on the saddle on the right side front (3), saddle right side back (4), saddle left side front (5), saddle left side back (6), and one in a shoulder holster on his left side for a right draw (7). He also had a bowie knife in the shoulder rig on his right side. 6 of the 7 were .44s, with the 7th (shoulder) being a .32. That would be 42 shots before having to reload. Since all 7 of the pistols were cap & ball rather than cartridge, and reloading those on horseback is next to impossible, that was a huge advantage. The novel referred to him as a dreadnought. BTW, the novel is now titled "Gone To Texas."

They are the ones that raided his farm, burned it down, and raped and killed his wife and son, and left him for dead. The hate and anger burning thru him for the rest of the war and beyond is justified. But, atrocities like that were done by agents on both sides. Who did them first? Who committed more of them? I don't think that we will ever know the truth on those questions. At least, not a truth that will be accepted by everybody.
