When I was a kid I couldn't understand how they didn't recognize their brother. But then I realized, well, it had been almost twenty years since they last saw him as a teenager. He was in Egyptian dress, Egyptian makeup, and most importantly held a high position. No wonder they didn''t know him.

It is definitely hard to wrap your head around in today’s society. His father had multiple concubines and quite a large tribe. If you go back in time and understand everything that went on and how they dressed themselves in Egyptian garb it’s not so far fetched that Joseph was unrecognizable to his brothers

I relate to joseph so much.I too was oppressed by my siblings. So much hatred jealousy. I've been punched in the face twice by them as a kid and as an adult. I was strangled/choked by my younger sister and mother. It's really intense and not fair, and I'm still trying to heal . God please save and heal my mind and body. Help me to forgive my oppressors.

Heavenly Father, be with our sister. Heal the wounds in her heart that only you can heal. Show her the way to forgive. Teach her that she is YOUR child and all that it means, that she is loved, that she is part of a larger family, that the things of her past are in the past. More than anything Lord, touch the hearts of her family. Show them the error in their ways, teach them to repent, and make clear to them the pain they've caused, and the need for forgiveness from it, in Jesus' name, Amen.............Lord bless you and keep you dear sister, may He make His face shine on you and be gracious to you, may He lift His countenance upon you and give you peace.

I was oppressed not physically but emotionally. but gladly, they weren’t my blood relatives, however they were ppl my parents trusted enough. They were like family. They were so wicked in many ways but they appeared so innocent and nice. I have hated them for a long time but God has brought me far, and out of their hands. Glory to God. 🙌🏾 I never want anyone to go through what I went thru. May God help those who are also in this. It’s not easy to be mentally abused like that, or physically, especially at a young age.😢🥺

@@mrniceguy3750 The Messiah, that Israel was expecting was rejected by Israel. They delivered Him to the Romans because of His claims. They sold Him for 30 pieces of silver(Joseph was sold for 20). While on the cross He was condemned with two thieves (Joseph in prison interpreted the two prisoners' dreams. One was saved the other perished). On the cross, one was saved, the other lost. Israel as a nation utterly rejected Jesus and even said " let His blood be upon us & our children". After a long period of time and being married to a non Israelite wife (foreshadowing of Christ and the present gentile church), Joseph sent his wife to the palace while he revealed himself to his brethren (The rapture of the church before God can go back to dealing with Israel). He had to rise to his position of prominence before he revealed himself, and nobody could approach Pharoah except they went through Joseph. Also when Joseph went anywhere, everyone had to bow the knee. Remember that Jesus said: John 14:6 KJV [6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Also: Philippians 2:8-11 KJV [8]And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Genesis 45:1 Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he cried out, "Have everyone leave my presence!" So there was no one with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers. 2 And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard him, and Pharaoh's household heard about it. 3 Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph! Is my father still living?" But his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified at his presence. 4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "Come close to me." When they had done so, he said, "I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! 5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.

But that didn't stop him from weeping. But his tears were not for himself. They were tears shed for his people, who had gone astray, and, worse, had no intention of turning back. Sometimes, that level of suffering is far greater than the suffering of everyday people. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. It is not a curse to be mourning.

One thing that I do find to be very amazing is that stuff like this can be applied to people's everyday lives. For seemingly no reason one day this week I started thinking about this and I felt like Joseph. Black friday just passed and I work at Walmart so things have been very stressful. Then just yesterday I was working in Housewares (a section of the store I really hate) and my manager kept telling me to do 10 different tasks every 5 minutes it seemed like. It may have been just me but I kept thinking that she doesn't like me, or else she kept wanting to keep an eye on my to make sure I was working, or maybe she was just stressed I don't know. Anyways I was getting really tired of feeling like that and I was really worried that she would be so displeased with me that she would fire me (again that just could have been me). But that evening my best friend called me and told me that she had moved to South Carolina (she had been moving around a lot lately). Ever since we've known each other she has been into a lot of drama and I've always been scared that one day we'd just call it quits on our friendship. But last night I finally didn't feel scared to speak my mind to her. Fully and truly talk about a serious issue with her. If one thing is for sure, these past stressful days, even a couple of weeks were worth it to take that fear out of me. Not solely for me, but for her.

Did you love Joseph when he was in the pit alone? What about the poor black people in the US who were sold into the pit of slavery by their own brothers... You people are very hypocritical.... You love fairy tales but reject actual reality... Would you love Joseph if he was a regular black man from the hood? If so, how so ??? This question is for all of the people who claim to love Joseph but hate on black men you see everyday ...

Accusers, betrayers held responsible for shed blood Gen 42:22 Mt 27:25 54. Both wept for the wicked Gen 45:2 Luke 19:41 55. Identified the primary betrayer: Simeon/Judas Gen 49:5-7 Ancient Jewish Targum identified Simeon as primary ringleader to kill Joseph. “And Simeon and Levi, who were brothers in counsel, said each man to his brother, Behold, this master of dreams cometh. And now come let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits and say that an evil beast bath devoured him; arid we shall see what will be the interpretation of his dreams.” (Jewish Targums of Onkelos and Jonathan Ben Uzziel On the Pentateuch, J. W. Etheridge, Gen 37:19, 1892 AD). Jesus gave bread to Judas to identify him as the betrayer. Gen 42:24 John 13:25-26 56. Righteous judgement: Joseph spared innocent (Reuben-oldest) for the guilty Simeon (next oldest) who spent several years in jail until the brothers returned. Jesus is our perfect judge who can separate the sheep from the goats. Simeon got the worst land in the Negev and was absorbed into Judah and Levi got no land at all. Gen 42:24 Mt 25:31-32; John 5:22-23, 27 57. Amazing grace given to wicked: Joseph returned his brother’s food money, Jesus’ Grace to us. Gen 42:27-28 Romans 5:6-11 58. Innocent suffers outside city: Benjamin was arrested outside the city/Jesus crucified outside Jerusalem. Gen 44:4 Hebrews 13:12 61. Substitutionary atonement: innocent Benjamin for wicked brothers. Jesus for sinners. Gen 44:16-17 Isa 53:5-6; 1 Cor 5:21 62. Innocent torn in pieces: Joseph-animal/Christ-scourging Gen 44:28 Mark 15:15 63. Both forgave those who wronged them Gen 45:4, 14-15 Luke 23:34 64. Became saviour of the people Gen 45:5; 47:25 Mt 1:21; 1 Jn 4:14 65. Joseph/Christ suffered according to predetermined plan of God Gen 45:5-7 Acts 2:23; 3:18; Eph 3:11 66. Self-anger and sorrow at hurting Joseph/Jesus Gen 45:5 Acts 2:36-38 67. First news that Joseph/Jesus were alive was not believed. Jacob would not believe Joseph was alive. The male disciples would not believe Mary when she reported Jesus alive. Gen 45:26 Lk 24:10-11; Mk 16:9-12 68. Fearful hearts brought to peace: Joseph/Jesus Gen 50:2; 43:23 John 20:19 69. Substitutionary atonement: Innocent Joseph/Christ suffered for guilty brethren. Gen 50:17-18 Isa 53 70. Evil turned into blessing Gen 50:20 1 Pe 2:24 71. Turned intentional harm into good Gen 50:20-21 72. Comforted those who betrayed him and felt guilt. Disciples were comforted of guilt of abandoning Jesus at the cross Except John, who was the only one who was at the trials and the foot of the cross. Gen 50:21 Jn 20:19 73. After Joseph/Christ became king both began summing up of all things, making pharaoh/God all in all. Gen 47:13-20 Eph 1:10; Col 1:17-20; 1 Cor 15:27-28 74. Hebrews under Joseph and Christians under Christ were exempt from losing their blessings, but enjoyed “all physical/spiritual blessings” while the rest suffered. Gen 47:27 Eph 1:3; Rev 12:5-6 75. Both married a Gentile bride

It's a love hidden language that confounds the Theologian and the lover sees the deeper message. The Bible is written in "tongues" so to speak. This Joseph of old is only a reflection of the second coming relationship and how the world rejects God's Christ( Joseph) again. The second coming has already taken place but we have sold our brother out, me included. I didn't recognize him until just recently.

My favorite scene in this production. However, instead of being so direct and saying "I am josef", he should have said "Don't you recognize me, brothers?". It would have made more of an impact. ^^

Read and study the life of William Branham, you will see again that God used a man to act this Joseph role once again. His whole family never realized who he was. Can you?

They would not have recognised him , and didn't because : 1) they thought he was dead 2) he spoke , looked like and behaved like an Egyptian 3) there had been what nearly 30 years since they had actually seen him 4) up to his revealing himself he spoke through an interior , it wasn't until he said " I am Joseph" ,he spoke Hebrew to them .
