These two discuss matters of the Transcendent like most people sit down and have a conversation over coffee. Not only is Mr. Campbell an absolute delight to listen to, but Mr. Moyers is in a class of his own as far as journalists are concerned. Words can't express my gratitude for uploading this gem of our collective history.

Dubious about a hash brown being called a Latke, but they are the nicest hash browns I’ve tried, even if they’re so large they look like they should have a picture of earth piped on them in icing. Reminds me of that other Calamity Jane mystery ‘if you said the world wasn’t round, would every flat facet of it have a string theory style congregation of vultures waiting on its surface? What a gift Joe Campbell's life journey and bliss was to the rest of us. Seems Bill's timing to get his wisdom on tape right before he died was the work of a helping hand to bring forth to us a true human being that has fully transcended .

Ive had chills almost whole time listening to this. It really is exclusively human priviledge to be able to learn about the world from such a person. I used to be diehard ateist, judging any faith and religion as mere properties of our minds manifesting in our cultures. But now i see that from any mythology and religion, i can learn the most about myself. And the fact that this was very soon before his death. Thank you universe for taking the name Joseph Campbel and showing us what we truly are

JC expressed his findings with such enthusiasm. The forklorists hated his gut but who cares! He was like the old story teller, he made the story big. He gave us a place at the center so we could start our own quest, or even Kula. He reconnected us with ourselves, our fellow beings past and present. A great healer, he healed many of us. We are now old, but alive, our minds are effervescent with energy, we do no succumb to the cult of netflix. Peace everyone, thanks for sharing.

Music, especially in an old foreign language adds mystique to worship. I grew up when Roman Catholic Mass was in Latin and a sung mass was on another level. Of course it also meant that except for the Epistle, Gospel and sermon which were in the vernacular of each country we had no idea what was being said or sung. Unless we went to a school that taught Latin. I am now a happy contented atheist but can still be moved by religious singing be it Latin, old Arabic, hebrew etc I can still recall my enjoyment. Now I just look around me and get such a buzz from the natural world including other humans A smiling child, a glorious sunrise. There is do much to enjoy.

A wonderful find... and his little treatise on the 'aum' word. Funny how when one makes the 'h' silent in the word home we have a similar sound. All of us coming home... and more importantly 'a coming home' to ourselves. Beautiful. Thank you.

I enjoyed hearing the shapes of thought contained in this conversation and the little films in between. Seeing the monks sound Aum Om was really interesting. The action of the sound is vibration that enters all the tiny holes in our bones. That is what is cool about having a body in spiritual nature alters the bodily state. The human ‘being’ ‘to be’ ‘be’ harnessing universal harmony into everyday action and containing Om vibration inside the bones that alters the state of mind that alters the action but no thought required Om vibration tuning us. Us Star bodies!

The last exchange about our feeble language is the encapsulation.... we of the western mind struggle with the spiritual realm because we have this language. And as hegemonic as this thing is, as academic and learned as theologians may be, the words will always fall short. Words are religion, the core of spirituality are what the words are trying to convey. We cannot speak it, we must embody it.

I have a borrowed/pilfered expression I've told many people who have come to me for a shred of wisdom. It's, "What do I know ? The more I know, the more I know the less I know." So, a few years ago I was introduced to Alan Watts. How was it possible that this well known, well spoken and experienced spiritual person escaped my orbit ? I was astounded when out of his mouth my every thought emerged. Thoughts I could seldom share for the explosive nature that resulted from well entrenched individuals that, like wild caged animals, would defend their ideologies without logic, to the death. And he spewed out hours of like minded experiential thoughts. Delightful. Yesterday I had a similar experience with a video of Joseph.. Again, smiling broadly I find myself in that "The more I know..." thought process. Here comes Joseph, from beyond temporal grave, speaking my mind and experiences, leaving me sputtering, "Where were you brother ? The company would've been nice." lololol....Namaste 🙏✨️✨️🙏

I absolutely love this series. It was made known to me at the perfect time for me in my spiritual development, and is something I come back to time and time again over the years, as there is so much wisdom to be found in Campbell's teachings. However, this segment contains my lone "disagreement" with him, namely his somewhat cavalier dismissal of the idea of a "personal" God. Only moments prior, he was talking about how God is "beyond being" and "both is and is not, neither is, nor is not", yet when it comes to being both transcendent and personal, somehow that no longer applies. I have found in my own life and inner experience that God is indeed the most personal relationship one can have, after all, there's no hiding from omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. I can understand why it would be dismissed out of hand, as it can be a terrifying thing to consider, but on the flipside, can be the most liberating thing to ever happen to you. Still, 10/10, life changing content from Papa Joe.

He's talking about the E light. Its Eternal. It says Everlasting yes but also says Eternity in other verses. The EnLIGHTened are the Elight E lite ELITE cause it was an E den the 5th letter (Eden). Symbolized by the pentagram star. Know your Evil. Like that scene when Luke fights Vader in the woods and ends up realizing that he killed himself. That was his chance to unite the 2. Evil begets evil.

Mythos is available from the Joseph Campbell foundation as well as many other JC materials. With the POM you are just scratching the surface of what this visionary thinker had to offer. I find I need to revisit his work and find I deepen my appreciation with each reviewing.

God = Creative Intelligence. Creative Intelligence is omnipresent. We are all It, to an unknowable/inexhaustible extent, as the facets of a Diamond are 'both' distinct from each other 'and' the Diamond itself. Love is the recognition of our shared Being. When I do good I feel good. When I do bad I feel bad. That is my religion. 'Abraham Lincoln' The temporal is the moving image of the Eternal Story, which complete in itself, we read or experience one chapter and verse at a time. The only destination is to become a competent wayfarer so you can enjoy the endless journey. Once the journey to the Absolute ends, the journey in, with, by, for and as the Absolute begins. The Word made flesh = the abstract called Love (word), can be expressed concretely (flesh) as a hug, etc. Spirit = Creative Intelligence. Soul = Integrated Psyche - Heart (values, aspiration) Mind (perspective, attention) and Will (competence, know-how). World/body = metaphorical reflection of current state of integration (integrity) of the faculties.of the Psyche or Soul if integrated. A = Will U = Heart M = Mind
