His opponent, Ben, wants nothing more than to grapple/wrestle the whole match. 2. Gamebred intends to let him have both barrels first thing.

I thought exactly the same thing, it was almost like a childish excitement or a naughty teenager moment, like when the girl next door promises she will swallow 😲 I hope Jorge will do some training or something alongside Darren and help him develop, into a better fighter, he's still only young and could go onto achieve a lot in the future. I absolutely agree with this statement as I've thought about it myself before. Competitors are in it for the sake of winning and they will go to any lengths to be on top. Martial Artists are truly in love with the technique of it all and wish to test themselves against other styles and prove that their style is supreme. Fighters are people who were born and raised for combat, and are almost always products of a dangerous environment. They are in the game simply because they relish the chance to fight other people, win or lose. All those mentalities are effective in their own right, but there's something fucking badass about a dude who is putting his life on the line in this sport simply because he loves the idea of combat.

@@snarfjohnson2262 I think he's making a larger point about the running trend of playing head games with your opponent. Whether he fights them is not really the point. The notion of "getting in someones head" was supposedly an advantage for a fighter, case in point Ben Askren mentioning he though he was getting to Masvidal by his commentary in interviews and on social media. In hindsight, Ben Askren was distraught about the L he took from Masvidal BUT he also lumped in the hit he is taking on social media as well when he interviewed post fight with Helwani. Jorge is trying to make a point of saying your actions before or after the bout should not be as important as the performance during the fight.

If a rematch hap i still would think Askren would be favored by maynard an shelby, Flying knees dont hap like that too often. Props on the KO but a rematch would be different. I like both fighters and it was such an amazing KO. But im sayin matchmakers dont see it as a great W deserving of Title shot. I hope they meet again down the road,hopefully we get treated to that!! :)

Andy Guido Yeah man i agree, Askren would still be the betting favourite going into the fight if they ran it back but Masvidal executed and it was no fluke. I could see a rematch happening because i don’t think Masvidal beats Woodley, Usman, Colby or even Edwards in my opinion.

U cant take anything away from what Jorge did. But it isnt happening again v Askren. Infact i bet Masvidal wouldnt take a second fight w Ben. He wud hide behind the quick KO an say what else can i do? He doesnt deserve it yada yada yada. An ben doesn't deserve one for the record. But it cud hap in the future an Jorge wudnt take it. No fight is the same. Period. That was a well planned flying knee an it worked great. It will never work again tho for Jorge like that an wont work vs Askren on the receiving end. Masvidal does have some bad losses on his record but hes an actvie fighter and some were split decision. An bens accomplishments arent nullified by L to jorge. Only casuals think that way. Jorge v Colby is a fight to make lol :) but i agree i don't see Jorge beating Marty fakesnewsman at all. Gotta see what UFC does w this division

Andy Guido and Jorge Colby is not the fight fuck boy because Colby is trash and has no belt it’s obviously him and Leon they are the two true top dawgs in the division over woodley and usman who should be stripped cuz he can’t defend his belt period you’re a casual frfr...there’s a reason why even tho Colby is ranked higher he’s fighting lawler and not woodley fucking idiot
