Jordan Hasay just gives me the chills, I saw her run at Mt. Sac last year and she takes on those switchbacks like no other.
The Oregon crowd knows a winner when they see one. They chanted come to Oregon at Jordan! She was the valedictorian of her high school, Mission College Prep, in California. She enrolled in the Robert Clark Honors College within the University of Oregon. Graduated with 6 school records and a business degree, if I remember correctly.
Christine Babcock was actually the national record holder for 1500 meters at the beginning of this race. If memory serves me right, 4:16:98. Hasay dropped that to 4:14.50. Babcock ran for the Washington Huskies and coach Greg Metcalf, winning their first NCAA National Cross-country title. Mel Lawrence, Katie Follett, and Katie Flood ran with her in those years. Lawrence is still the best performer in FootLocker history, finishing 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, and 5th in four years at Balboa Park, San Diego. Flood was an Iowa multiple state record holder in high school, and Christine set a meet record at her own high school's Woodbridge Invitational XC Meet in the heart of Orange County, California 16:01! (and they run that at night!) It was always fun watching these girls all show up at the same national meet in high school. Always kind of picked Jordan though.
Best part of this telecast was hearing the crowd chant "Come to Oregon!" I had a feeling she would oblige. Look what Galen Rupp is doing at the Univ. of Oregon. Jordan just ran 10:10 for 2 miles at the Nike Indoor Nationals. I think she's capable of running 4:10 for 1,500 before she graduates. She might just make this year's World Championship team, or come pretty close.
I almost cried. I was so happy for her :))

Lexivor It's obviously her distance.
My favorite performance and interview with Jordan! So exciting and she is as sweet and smart as she is fast.
Her hair is 5% of her body weight too.
Jordan is a really nice girl. I met her a couple of times. I' m looking forward to seeing her become even better! She has a really good chance of making it to the next Olympics. :D
really gracious young women....I wish her best of luck.
I met her at Footlocker Nationals. Really nice and holy jesus is she fast. She also got first at 3200m state and won by a good 15 seconds.
Congratulations Jorday on making the FINALS. wow!
She's a BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i can't believe she was just 16... friggin amazing :O
@jaaaymode Maybe America did, but San Luis Obispo (her home) has loved Hasay for years... and she just keeps going...!! I miss seeing her run by my house everyday during her Mission Prep high school career. Go Jordan!
The performance by Hasay is unbelievable for her age!!
I bet $200 the little Jordan Palomino pony tail will make it to the Olympics.
Amazing. Just amazing.
She is making the Olympic team this year! Just watch
No, but you can't beat Hasay's dramatic performance here qualifying for the Olympic final against these college women! An incredible 1500 meters.
I got 7th place in this race.
you are my hero!!!
I remember watching her freshman performance in the Foot Locker 2007 XC High School Championships. She came in first.
she's so amazing. she'll absolutely kill in college.
she is my idol
she's so badass. she's my idol
omg thats so good! my mile pr is a 6:03 and my 1500 pr is a 5:33
@jaaaymode HA! You're welcome! It's weird, but I never get tired of watching it and every time I'm sitting on the edge of my chair cheering "Go Jordan!" as if I don't know how it's going to come out.
Crazy to think that this time right here would have won the NCAA's the other week.
she can fricken MOVE!!
You go! Dedication and focus and you can't fail! ;)
u guys should of seen her run Mt Sac her freshmen year....she blew everyone away..i cant remember her time but i think she got like 16; something..way better then my time...she is like way faster then me...but then again i run more long distance...but for her getting 4:14 is amazing..she could probably beat me in the 3miles..for sure
Emotional race.
Word of advice just do 400 and mile repeats and you will become a better runner. Also do cross country or build your mileage up and you can become a better runner. Just started training for my second marathon and I have so much more wind and endurance than i did in highschool.
Dat ponytail doe!!!
lol she lives about 5 minutes away from me and i knew her throughout school.. its so weird seeing her trying out for the olympics
Jorday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dam this girl is fast! I'm going into 9th grade and my best mile time is a 5:29, best 800 is a 2:27. I feel kinda slow now. I hope I will be at the trials for the 2016 rio games.
my mile pr is a 6:03 and my 1500 pr is a 5:33 my track season was cut short this year cause of medical problems though
I saw her at the airport!!!
She didn't win this one. She did win 2 races on the same nite a few weeks ago in Portland.
can't imagine being 16 and in the trials. Wonder if Katelyn Tuohy will try in 2020?

Isn't Katelyn Tuohy someone special? I met another great young runner here in Syracuse and she flipped my mindset from despair to Glory. Her name: Laura Dickinson!

I am going to start using my birthed name again as I am now living my original DREAM. (The Impossible Dream and I MEAN IT!) I was born Stephen Lee Ethridge on June 12,1944 at 4:05 A.M. in Rome (Oneida County) NY and my dad was E.H. Ethridge,Jr who captained the Yale track team of 1939 (not exactly the right year if one wanted to achieve Olympic Glory!

Katelyn probably won't. She's in much of a hurry to join the Olympics
JORDAN HASAY IS SO HEAVENLY FINE.
I saw this girl run at Mt. Sac...she made everyone look stupid!! She is ridiculous!!!
At least she still has the 10k to do well at though, jordan's strong suit has always been her endurance
Goodbye Hasay's 1500 Record. Mary Cain killed it last Sunday at the World Jr. Championships. 4:11.01
she goes to my brothers school !
That's from wikipedia... you can't rely on that.
@ecoxxnawtxxego yup.
They should do this in english units, just make it a 1600 yard race.
@shemo19 obviously you never ran track. 4 laps around the track is a mile. Do you even know the difference in distance from lane 1 to lane 8? 1 mile is 1609 meters, that's why there's a stagger at the start. I ran track for four years, don't patronize me. why do you think the 4x400 is called the mile relay. Why don't you go run a mile around the track and tell me how many laps you run for your mile.
@athleteization Awesome, ain't it? Wonder if the other runners get all mad about her hair flying in their face when she passes? Ha ha!

SLOBoe same with that slim german runner in the 1500m
Mary Cain is absolutely amazing! Here in New York she's a legend! You nearly crap your pants when you hear you have to race her!
@zippo7224 Um, 1 mile is 4 laps around the track. If you can run 5,280 feet in 110 seconds, that means in one second you can run 48 feet. If so, you can run a 100m in 6.385 seconds. You're not faster than Usaine Bolt my friend. You're not faster Jeremy Wariner, and you're not faster than Hicham El Guerrouj. Film this mile you're running. It's physically impossible for you to cover 48 feet in 1 second. If you can "run" 48 ft in 1 second, you're saying you can "Jump" more than the WR too? Smart.
I am the best mile runner in my school and my mile time is a 5:14 and I'm in 6th grade
Cutie paw too tee
I really hate watching anything more than the 400m but this was just way to amazing. She's got a super future ahead of her. Might knock Usain Bolt outta the picture when she's in her 20's.
Only 48 seconds behind Hitcham. Incredible

This is a women's race
youre not great, but your not bad. just practice and be dedicated
"when she's in her 20's" ... LOL! Yeah, when she gets "old". Haha!
@rachaele90 BEST COMMENT YET! +++1!!
16..
I know it was a Semi and not the actual Final; but when you have 4 people in a blanket finish for the win and all you do is scream about a teenager who is 3seconds back and not a factor in it, it's kind of annoying.
And now 9 seconds off the record
hey bro i have the same goal as you!possibly slower than you
i think her best is 9:52 for 2miles...she is faster then me by 6 seconds..i finish highcshool with 9:58 and that was a bitch ass time to get..but when she ran that time she wasnt even tire at all..and i was dying with 9:58..do u run?

Truth!
Not a high school record anymore
Not true at all. He/she will almost definitely fail, but that's okay because making it to the Olympic trials is a very elite accomplishment.
I used to wonder why she kept her hair so long.. then i looked back at my pictures of little 10 year old me running and I would run with my hair down. My hair probably reached mid-back
Didn't her mom commit suicide?
wouldn't her hair be so annoying to run with?

turniptod12 I know; surely she'd be more aerodynamic with her hair in a bun....
she will be great unless he grows more and grows hips. she still looks like a 7th grader here
