The two most outstanding memories of Jonathon Winters will forever be the total destruction of the brand new filling station in the classic comedy "Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" and his hysterically funny contribution on the Dean Martin Roast to Frank Sinatra. Will be very sadly missed. Thank you for posting.

For me there are dozens of great comedians but non better than Jonathan Winters at the true comedic value...always be funny and always leave them laughing. I will miss him for the rest of my life....and perhaps others...just one more thing though....he's the best at inprov.....the ones out there now, learned what they know from Jonathan. And the ones after that....well, they learned from thoughs who learned from Jonathan Winters as well. We , in my generation, and others...will never forget him.

I really liked hin on TV. My fav was the ufo landing with his sound effects.

Love his humor. Clean and pure with the slightest twist of ironic sarcasm.

I'll miss him so.... What a great comedian.

My God. I've been going through a bunch of Carson and Letterman vids and laughing for the past 2 hours. Jonathan Winters is another great comedian that is no longer around. I miss those days.

He was the best of the best as far as commedians go. So was Johnny Carson but Jonathan Winters was in a class by himself. No one else compared to him.

I remember well watching Winters' TV show back in the 60's when I was in High School. When I would go back to me and my friends talked about his show. The Great Ones goo to soon. Damn!

what I like about this guy is he doesn't hand-feed you, he let's you get it or don't you're not gonna get all of it, and that's OK plus he is sublimely weird and unique and interesting

He had a lot of soul and he was damn funny. I always felt like I knew the same people he based his caricatures on but with different names. It always seemed that he knew all the about them including their worst but chose to use just the funny parts. I didn't know him personally so I won't miss him because I'll always have his work to make me laugh. Thank You Mr. Winters.

Some of the best improv comedy i've ever seen was Robin & Jonathon on Mork & Mindy. I wasn't really a fan of the show til Jonathon came on it. I mean, they just killed. But, I guess, most folks just didn't get it. There must be a whole bunch of outtakes and deleted scenes of those two just going at it, in the archives somewhere. I've always wondered if it would ever see the light of day. Man, that would be something.

Jonathan Winters could make you fall off your chair laughing just reading the phone book. They don't make 'em like him any more.

I can't think of a bigger influence on Dave than Jonathan Winters (along with Carson of course) And we all know JW's and Robin's relationship

What was the name of his character...the little kid? I loved it when I was a kid.

I remember my dad telling me Jonathon spent some time under physiatric care and used some of his imitations/voices from "the voices" he would hear. Robin Williams, however, got much of his looney humor from all the drugs he's done. Either way, both men are funny in their own right.

I remember seeing him w/Robin on the Tonight show and they had Johnny practically in tears. OMG it was FUNNY! Wish I could see it again but I can't find it.

Jonathan Winters is a true treasure... Robin Williams is just a very sad rip-off and NOT funny ! As a dramatic actor, Williams is actually quite good ! But when I see him on a talk show... he's just horrible. Anyone with even the slighest grasp of how comedy works could Williams' "act". As I use to in the 70s in junior high school... I learned from Winters' many TV appearances. NO... I'm not a professional millionaire comic. But somehow Williams is. Well, good for him. Winters = insanity king.
