Thai with little gloves is just the best striking sport ever, the hands are so much more meaningful now.

Yeah while I agree that it makes for more entertainment and gives the foreigners more chance, it also creates a disadvantage to any Thai fighter who specializes in kicks, knees, clinch etc

No not really a shin is still a shin and increbible fighters like tawanchai , superlek , petchmokrat all specialize in these things it just means the hands have real value now and elbows are better with 4oz gloves

I thought his first fight with Rodtang was better. The levels of striking and movement from both and the relentless pace was crazy. EDIT: I take it back a little, just saw the 2nd round.. :D

Wow! What a fight! I'm an old 66 year old boxing fan and this is my first time watching a Muay Thai match. This is much better than MMA where take-downs and long stretches of fighters just laying on each other just does not interest me. These two guys came to fight and they did not disappoint the fans. This fight reminds me of Hagler and Hearns. It was that good!

One championship muay thai is a lot different than normal muay thai since they ref clinching differently. In One they always immediately break it up.

This is because of these small gloves ! Actually, i am not sure to like them, first for the importance it gives to punches and second because they are not very healthy for fighters …

@@andrewchesler2029 That's not really true. Thai fighters put a heavy emphasis on kicks. Just check out any recent fight, ie Tawanchai vs Superbon (awesome fight if you havent seen it).

Haggerty was all kicks and teeps until he got hurt in round 1; he's not a puncher either if you watch his other fights. Not to mention, there are a lot of foreigners who are kick heavy. For example, his teammate Liam Nolan on the same card is a kicker.
