You don't have Hornets and Cockroaches in the UK? I think I'll be moving from Switzerland to England. We even have 'bugs' called "Maikäfer" which are like cockroaches but they live mainly undergrounds and every few years they fucking grow wings and start flying around in HUGE groups.

"Where?" you ask yourself, where... But nothing can satiate your mind.. It Was There. So you finally give up after an hour and lay down. Hoping to rest. knowing that, somewhere, this frankenstein zombie cockroach is crawling along your things, oozing it's entrails behind it. Is it that tickle on your arm? your foot? Do you feel something trying desperately to crawl, awkwardly, under your blankets... You rise up in a sudden movement, enough to make you lite headed. Fuck, they sent them all to Australia back in the day. We have magpies and cockroaches. They both eye you off, and jump out at ya if you dare cross their path. I actually think cockroaches are the most intelligent insect I've ever seen. I killed one once, in the kitchen. before I could swoop the bugger up I saw another one run up to it and it's antennae twitched across it's own. as if it was almost mourning. I've seen a dead baby roach in the bath tub, and an adult (mother?) laying next to it, not even moving. just there. kinda makes me think I should usher them out rather than just kill them. they obviously are more aware than we realise. at least, in my opinion.

If you squash roaches you are braver than I am. Those things disgust me and freak me out. I spray them with Raid to kill them. Then I vacuum up the corpses. They gross me out so much that I line up the vacuum and look away as I push it towards them... then I flinch when I feel it get sucked into the vacuum. Ugh. That is one of the reasons I will always have a vacuum with a disposable bag - I couldn't handle dumping out a clear plastic canister.
