As someone who ran track in college, thank you for this. I immediately thought to myself that Jon's stride was too short for it to be translated from a treadmill into a real-world sprint.

Jones isn’t a track star. He’s a fighter. This is for explosive cardio, not for an efficient stride. He isn’t trying to show off his running skill, he’s trying to demonstrate the kind of explosive pace he can maintain for 10-15 seconds at a time in a five minute round. I don’t care about his form. I want to see how many times he can do this and his recovery time between reps. If he’s going to fight ngannou and he can do this consistently, ngannou better catch jones with a dirty shot, or he’s getting pieced up.

ya, I agree. I mean Jones is freaking huge . There trying to break down his stride like he's going to run a race . He is a wrestler at his core . A fighter who breaks his opponents , beats them at there own game. A look see do fighter. The GOAT per Dana White and I agree.

The picture at 1:04, which training would you stick with? Would you be the person on the right (heavier) or the person on the left (endurant)?

No one can choose his genetic predispositions. Slow twitch muscle fibers are naturally built for endurance. Fast twitch fibers are gifted with explosiveness. In MMA and other combat sports you definitely need to work seriously on your natural weaknesses. It's a long enough but high intensity interval effort. You can not rely exclusively on your natural endurance or explosiveness, but a lot of fighters still do it to this day, unfortunately for them and for the sport. Champions who defended their titles several times understood that quite well. Any long enough high intensity interval effort requires both endurance and explosiveness, and thus any performer should find a way to deliver in both areas by restructuring their natural slow or fast twitch muscle fibers. There are specific trainings and workouts for each type of genetic predispositions.

His running stride could use some work but he’s definitely running fast...I’d accept the 20mph no problem.
