But when you get knocked out, your brain shuts off and you end up avoiding more damage. The damage is not immediate, it's over time. With submissions, you have the option to tap to avoid breaking your bones. But with those oblique kicks you have none of that, as It takes only one well placed kick to fuck up the ability of your opponent to fight for life and even making things like playing with their children hard. That's why it's absolutely fucked up. Is not an even tradeoff.

Yet there’s many fighters who don’t have noticeable cte that complained about oblique kicks, Rampage for example. So that right there is evidence that oblique kicks are detrimental to fighters health. Fact is, the worst thing that can happen from a normal strike is getting kod, the worst thing that can happen from a single oblique kick is a career ending life changing knee injury. And it’s not like it’s hard to throw the kick, anyone can do it, and that’s exactly why most fighters don’t, they have enough respect and common sense to know if everyone throws oblique kicks careers end way earlier which sucks for the fans and fighters. My dad taught me that kick, although it's a more devastating version, and I was throwing spinning back elbows before I saw anyone do it.

That's very effective and dangerous and easy to use and is effective in self defence situations

Brain damage is inevitable no matter what. Football players will get brain damage. Ufc fighters will get brain damage. But those kicks to your knee will retire you much quicker than a kick to the head. 12 to 6 elbows are illegal while these are far more dangerous.
To anyone who said that it's a dirty move, does anyone dies from oblique kick???nahh I think not but I know a lot of people who died by getting hit in the head, the statement I'm trying to make is that how can it be a dirty move if it's not illegal??

Would rather die than be a cripple for the rest of my life
"Very controversial move but if someone is trying to us you brain damage, we believe it's an even trade off" this statement can't be argued with!
"If someone is trying to give us brain damage we believe its a even trade-off to give them a lil limp for the rest of they lives" i agree
I usually like to impose disrupted skeletal integrity but ligaments & tendons work, too.
It's a career ending kick to do on people
It’s called the please don’t hit me kick
The brain damage argument gave me brain damage 💀
It’s kind of brilliant move, you try to avoid it so you don’t have your knee facing forward to push on offense. After that at the GOATs pace cause of his NFL reach.
And the oblique no matter which way you throw it can be dangerous but if you turn to the side and you have the proper range no can stand no can fight
Jon Jones is a rare fighter, we won't see another man like him in the octagon ever again...or for a very long time.
If Jon Jones didn’t have his secret eye poking and knee obliteration signature moves , noone would be talking about him today 😂
Jon has fed up many opponets with this technique.. not just in the fight but long after. Brutal move.
I find Jones life to be eerily similar to mine. His brother and I were born on the same day. My dad taught me that kick, although it's a more devastating version, and I was throwing spinning back elbows before I saw anyone do it. I assumed it was normal until I heard Strickland say Jones was the first one to use it. First one he saw anyway. I wanted to fight in LHW too, but chose a career in the military instead.
People talk crap about this kick but are ok with someone's knee getting destroyed by a knee bar or their arm getting broken for not tapping smfh.
I practice this on the heavy bag in my basement in front of the mirror. Gotta perfect my craft for taking out someone’s knee in a street fight. Thanks Jon.
Best move to use in a street fight almost immediately if you land it correctly you can see it in who ever you fights eyes they are in for a long recovery
Shit when I was a kid. We train some beginners muy thai. One of the first lessons was that the “forward” or “teep” kick is not only one the strongest but most useful kicks you can master.
Jo knows he has hurt someone forever without qilling them...dangerous man.
Crazy how he does all this dirty stuff but he only really got punished for the 12 to 6 elbow, eyepokes before that crap but at least he got something
With knee injuries been so common in the sport, this kick just seems so wrong
Oblique get out of here with that nonsense it's called the no can stand no can fight shotokan 💯
The little smirk got me 💀
Try it out Especially you long guys Me:yes sir🖖🏻 Then I will watch it from jail 😂
Oblique kick isn’t Jon’s best weapon. His best weapon is the eye poke!
Jon just talking casually about messing up someone's knee for life is just Psycho.
Thanks Jon, my grandma never stood a chance 😉
i cant let you get close move😂
I did martial arts from the age of 6 to the age of 17. I got a second degree black belt and that kick I used a lot in tournaments.
The real captain insano 🤣
This sounds like a sociopath cooking show
The eye poke is his signature move☠️
Those kicks are dirty fighting. For combat to kill.
Its a great psycho move
You can give someone a limp for the rest of their lives- TRY IT OUT, GUYS!
I think if you’re a good wrestler or good at bjj you should do like leg kicks in a street fight because some random dude is gonna be like screw this and try to take you down and now he’s in deep waters
God Jon is a giant
