But when you get knocked out, your brain shuts off and you end up avoiding more damage. The damage is not immediate, it's over time. With submissions, you have the option to tap to avoid breaking your bones. But with those oblique kicks you have none of that, as It takes only one well placed kick to fuck up the ability of your opponent to fight for life and even making things like playing with their children hard. That's why it's absolutely fucked up. Is not an even tradeoff.

I like how people are hatting on Jon for using the kick, like he is the one who decides what is legal and what isn't. You can argue that slamming your opponent on the back of their neck and head like a power slam is legal and that could not only serverly injure someone,it could paralyze and even worse kill someone of slammed hard enough on their head. Basically allot of these keyboard warriors and Jon Jones haters will find anything to complain about.

@@mavrick62910your argument is based on what ifs. Nobody in ufc history has died from a power bomb bud. Can tell you’re not the brightest bulb in the bunch😂. Yet there’s many fighters who don’t have noticeable cte that complained about oblique kicks, Rampage for example. So that right there is evidence that oblique kicks are detrimental to fighters health. Fact is, the worst thing that can happen from a normal strike is getting kod, the worst thing that can happen from a single oblique kick is a career ending life changing knee injury. And it’s not like it’s hard to throw the kick, anyone can do it, and that’s exactly why most fighters don’t, they have enough respect and common sense to know if everyone throws oblique kicks careers end way earlier which sucks for the fans and fighters. You’re advocating for a worse sport just because you love jones and don’t want to admit he’s an asshole. Your entire argument is based on your love for jones, time to face reality and take his cock out your mouth lil bro

My dad taught me that kick, although it's a more devastating version, and I was throwing spinning back elbows before I saw anyone do it. I assumed it was normal until I heard Strickland say Jones was the first one to use it. First one he saw anyway. I wanted to fight in LHW too, but chose a career in the military instead.
