Actually this is the not the first signer that triggered this, but the second one who joined him. The first person looks like an idiot, then (and that is the real hero) a second one decides to join in and show the others they should too. As more and more people join in, those who dont feel left out and join too.

yes to both - I'd add another: you're in one of the tents at Oktoberfest (the one in Munich), you can't really hear what the band is playing, then all of a sudden the crowd kicks in and you are surrounded by 5000+ people singing at top volume "county roads...take me home..." Christ, the first time I experienced it I got all choked up. True awesomesauce.
