Nice boat! I just converted a 14 foot tracker from 1980 and it looks sweet! I’m looking forward to posting a video on it and fishing/filming from it!!

I've got like four projects to finish (kind of small ones) and one big one, then I'll start on the boat project. It's been on the back burner for over two years. Good going on getting started. looking forward to future vids.

Wish I had seen your video earlier. I have a 16ft boat very similar to yours, with the same drainage system, and I don't like it either. I want to put a floor in but feel I must solve the drainage problem first. The small holes clog way too easily, so I am constantly vacuuming water out. I have used thin tools and air pressure to try and clear the holes but they don't stay that way very long. Have you come up with any solutions? I was thinking about cutting the rib right above the drain hole and spreading it, but that might weaken the structure. Any advice?

Im assuming you were drilling out the rivets? How did you keep from damaging or putting a hole through the sidewall during this? I have a 10’ alumacraft that I’m about to start on and would like to take the benches out to accommodate a rod locker but don’t want to damage the hull. Great video. New sub👍

I have a 1960 Alumacraft that is registered as a 14 ft V-hull jon boat, and it has similar ribs as yours. The ribs in mine didn't even have those notches that you have in yours, so I cut some 3/8th x 2 inch ovals in the sides of the tall ribs, and some V notches in the shorter ribs to give the water a place to run to the back. It came with a bow cover that I took off as I will be running a Minn Kota 45 bow mounted trolling motor, and a Minn Kota 50 EnduraMax on the transom. I intend to deck the rear half on the ribs, and the front half on top of the middle and front bench to the "shelf" in the front of the bow so it will be a 2 level deck. I would love to see your boat when it's done, and I'm hoping to get mine done by this spring so I can get my "new boat" out for the debut in the spring with it's makeover.

Perry, I would love to see how you cut the ribs in your boat as described above. Can you send me some pictures? p,starr@mediacombb.net.

15.5 to 16 ft is much better, it gets out of the hole faster with a second fisherman or woman. Most of us like to fish with a fishing buddy. 16 foot is way better.
