Jon Boat Rod Locker Install Pt.1 Complete Step-By-Step Process {Jon Boat to Bass Boat Conversion}

Спорт

I'm very excited to bring this part of the series to you. My goal is to give you as much detail as possible for this part of the build. So this will be a three part series which show you a step-by-step process. Building the jon boat rod locker turned out to be a much bigger job than I anticipated. My goal was to build the locker WITHOUT cutting my bench out. I'm very happy I was able to successfully get it done an keep my bench intact. It was challenging but all turned out well.

    For those coming for ideas. You could save time by making the one template for location. Dont cut hole in template. Just center punch each side a drill. Still looks good.

    You approach a project much like and even sound like Jeremy Fielding. You have similar creativity. Great job, being an electrician I think you could use drain waste vent pvc to reduce weight and would be strong enough.

    How did you determine the spacing of the holes so that the reels don't interfere with each other or the rods especially spinning reels

  • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    2 жыл бұрын

    I went off of how much space I allotted for the rod locker. Then worked out the spacing for the rods and reels based on that. In the end the spacing between the hole cut outs were around 2 inches apart. I will say give yourself as much room on the back for your reels as you can. My reels fit but it's very tight.

    Won’t the reels collide in the rod locker?

    Seeing as you had heaps more pvc pipe why not use a long piece sharpen one end of the pvc pipe at the other end drill a hole in it . Use your screwdriver and using the pvc pipe screw it thu the foam ... to get the foam out of the pvc pipe drill holes in it just like the drill that you used to drill the holes

  • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    3 жыл бұрын

    Not a bad idea. I did use the PVC to clear out the holes after I dug it out with the drill but but maybe doing what you said would have made it even easier.
